Local Association Leave. A total of thirty five (35) days leave per school year shall be allowed for local Association business. This leave will apply only to representatives of the Association and its constituent organizations. Whenever possible, requests for such leave shall be submitted to the Superintendent by the Association President in writing, no less than three (3) days prior to the day for which leave is sought. Such requests will be granted to the extent that they do not conflict with special programs requiring the attendance of the employee involved. The cost of the substitute, when needed, shall be borne by the Association. A maximum of two (2) employees from any building can be granted leaves for any one (1) day and five (5) employees from in the District. The Superintendent may grant additional leave days upon request. This category of Association leave applies to employees who are elected by the regional, state or national Association to be in attendance at professional conferences, meetings, symposiums and trainings. A pool of up to ten (10) days annually shall be provided for employees who qualify for this leave. The regional, state, or national Association shall pay the cost of any replacement employee. Whenever possible, notification of leave shall be submitted by the Association member in writing to the District with a letter from the regional, state or national Association verifying that has been authorized for the employee two (2) days before the leave is to take effect. The Superintendent may grant additional leave days upon request.
Local Association Leave. The University may grant leaves of absence as requested to nurses selected by the Association to attend Association business, including, conferences and conventions. The request shall be made in writing in advance to the Manager of Employee Relations or designate. Such approval shall be based upon operational requirements and shall not be unreasonably withheld.
Local Association Leave. Each year the Association shall be credited ten (10) days non-accumulative leave with pay to be used by teachers who are members of the Association for the purpose of attending to Association business. Written requests for such leave days shall be made by the president of the Association. The Association agrees to notify the Superintendent no less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date of intended use of such days. The Association shall be responsible for securing and paying for the substitute(s) when necessary.
Local Association Leave a. A pilot on Association leave shall be paid and credited as provided herein, and shall continue to accrue all benefits as if he had been on active duty for any month in which a pilot takes Association leave. b. The Association will reimburse the Company for all Association leave paid to pilots as follows: the number of hours on leave paid by the Company (as directed by the MEC Chairman) times the applicable hourly rate for each pilot, plus an additional percentage of the total to cover the cost of fringe benefits for pilots on Association leave. The Company will calculate the actual override percentage each February 1st and provide information sufficient to verify the percentage to the MEC Chairman or his designee. The new percentage will be applied to Association leave taken from January 1st to December 31st of that year. c. The Company shall prepare an invoice for Association leave pay which, after review by the MEC Chairman and Secretary- Treasurer, will be reimbursed by the Association. Such invoice shall state the date of each Association leave, the pilot's name and ALPA number, the section number(s), the hours billed, the pilot's pay rate and the total flight pay.
Local Association Leave. Any member of the Local Association who is attending Association activities, shall upon making the request five (5) weeks in advance (two (2) weeks in advance in cases of extenuating circumstances), be granted a leave of absence without pay. The maximum time off for the Association activities shall be a total of forty (40) working days per calendar year. No more than two (2) nurses may be absent from scheduled work at any one time, provided that nurses are not scheduled to work on the same clinic. The Employer agrees, however, that four (4) continuous days of leave of absence without pay may be granted two (2) nurses provided relief staff is available, outside of the aforementioned time limit, to enable them to attend the Bi-Annual Convention of the Association. Requests for Association activities will not be unreasonably requested or denied. During such leave, the nurse’s salary and applicable benefits, excluding WSIB coverage, shall be maintained by the Employer. The Employer will bill the Local Treasurer in a timely fashion and the Local Treasurer will reimburse the Employer in a timely fashion.

  • Association Leave The Association shall be allowed to use up to 5 days of leave each school year for use by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. The Association shall reimburse Unified School District 434 for the loss of use of the teacher taking such leave by paying the daily cost of a substitute teacher. The Association shall notify the Superintendent not less than 5 calendar days in advance of using such leave.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year. 2.   • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Education Leave If required by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."

  • Union Leave Leave of absence for Union business shall be given without pay up to a maximum of (as per the local provisions under L19) days per calendar year provided such leave does not interfere with the continuance of efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave shall be subject to the following conditions: (a) not more than (as per the local provisions under L19) employees of the Hospital are absent on any such leave at the same time, and not more than (as per the local provisions under L19) employee from a department; (b) a request must be made in writing at least twenty-one days prior to the commencement of the function for which leave is requested, unless it is not reasonably possible to give such notice; (c) such request shall state the general nature of the function to be attended; (d) employees on a Union Leave which is approved by the Hospital in accordance with the above conditions shall be paid for such leave by the Hospital. The Hospital shall then forward a statement of such wages paid to the employee affected to the union for reimbursement of the amount stated; (e) an employee who is elected or appointed to office with the CAW, shall upon application by the Union in writing, be granted a leave of absence without loss of seniority and benefits for up to three (3) years. An extension shall be granted upon written application by the employee to the administration of the Hospital. During such leaves of absence, salary and benefits shall be kept whole by the Hospital and the Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital for such salary and the Hospital's contribution to said benefits. The employee agrees to notify the Hospital of the employee's intention to return to work within two (2) weeks following the termination of office for which the leave was granted. The union agrees to notify the Hospital five (5) months in advance of the Local Union election. The union further agrees that the requirement to meet under Article 14 will be waived. At the end of such leave, any employee hired or placed as a substitute for the employee on such absence, may be terminated or laid off by the Hospital as required, or may be transferred to the employee's previous position if the substitution was a transfer. An employee on leave of absence under this provision shall continue to accumulate all rights and privileges under this Agreement. It is understood that the intent of this article is that it shall normally apply to only one employee at a time per circumstance as noted above, and that the Union shall provide adequate notice prior to an employee commencing Union Leave of Absence. Further applications may be granted consistent with the Hospital’s staffing requirements. In addition, it is understood that any employee so elected or appointed is required to maintain their competence in the event that they are to return to the workplace.

  • Union Leaves Employees on Union Leaves will be treated as provided in Article 18 (Q) while working on Union leave.

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund, one (1¢) cent per hour per employee for all compensated hours for the purpose of providing paid education leave.
