Bilingual. The District shall pay a bilingual stipend of $50 per month to such positions as the District may identify as requiring bilingual skills. Employees in such positions must pass a verbal assessment test in order to receive the stipend. When a vacancy occurs, the District may at its discretion indicate on the job posting that bilingual skills are preferred or required for the position. This stipend shall be pro-rated for part-time employees according to FTE.

Bilingual. The Employer will provide non-certified/non-licensed hourly staff a $1.50 per hour premium and place Certified/Licensed staff on the step above where they would normally qualify for placement in exchange for validated bilingual expertise in any language designated by the employer as a high need area of expertise. This extra compensation will be limited to no more than two employees per designated language per bargaining unit.
Bilingual. Employees responsible to provide bilingual services shall receive an increase to base salary of five percent (5%). To qualify for the five percent (5%) increase, an employee must pass a proficiency test. The County shall select and administer or cause to be administered a standardized test for all eligible employees. The number of employees eligible to participate in this program shall be established annually with the adoption of the County's Position Allocation List.
Bilingual. Employees who have a demonstrated proficiency in Spanish or American sign language shall be paid five percent (5%) per month in addition to his/her regular salary. The County shall develop standards and tests for whether the employee has the requisite degree of proficiency. Employees may, at the County's discretion, be subject to annual re-tests. Employees who are unsuccessful in demonstrating proficiency may re-test no sooner than six (6) months.

Bilingual. If a provider has completed Providence bilingual proficiency screening certification for providing care in a language other than English they will receive a twelve thousand dollar ($12,000) bonus each calendar year, prorated based on FTE. A provider shall receive an annual bilingual proficiency bonus if: a. The employee is deemed sufficiently proficient in English; and b. The employee is deemed sufficiently proficient (Providence bilingual proficiency screening certification) in one of the languages determined by the employer to be one of the ten (10) most prevalent in the Employers population.
