CALAMITY HOURS. Members of the bargaining unit shall not lose any salary on days when school is closed due to weather, energy, calamity, or any other emergency; provided that no such employee shall be paid for any additional days of work required to be made up to meet the minimum school year. If the number of calamity hours exceeds the number permitted by state law and the time must be made up, the Superintendent and KCCCSA President shall agree on the procedure for making up the time beyond those days required by law to be designated on the District’s calendar.

CALAMITY HOURS. Members of the bargaining unit shall not lose salary when school is closed due to weather, energy, calamity or other emergency declared by the Superintendent. Members who are required to work on days on which school is closed shall receive pay or comp time at the rate of one and one-half (1.5) hours for each hour worked. If the school district is required to make up hours in order to comply with the minimum school year, no member of the bargaining unit shall be paid additional wages for such make-up day/hours or days worked. If the number of calamity days exceeds the number permitted by state law and the time must be made up, the Superintendent and KCCCSA President shall agree on the procedure for making up the time beyond those days/hours designated on the District’s calendar.
CALAMITY HOURS. In the event school is closed or dismissed early because of weather conditions or other reasons, the afternoon and evening activities may be cancelled or postponed. Use of building permits may be marked for outside and/or community groups, indicating that school facilities may not be available for use on these days. Those employees who report to work on a day that school is closed for weather conditions or other reasons will be given compensatory time off for time needed to work. On days when school is delayed, no additional compensation will be paid beyond the employee’s regularly scheduled hours. When unusual situations arise, the Superintendent or his/her designee and the Union leadership will meet to discuss handling of compensation for those situations. When more than the number of calamity days allotted by the District are used during the school year, the make up days that have been Board approved will go into effect. Should those make-up days occur on Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx or Presidents’ Day holidays, twelve-month employees will receive compensatory time for the hours worked on that day. Non-twelve month employees will trade the make-up day from the end of the school year to occur on the holiday and shall be compensated at their regular rate of pay for the hours worked. Time and a half or double-time shall not apply on make-up days that occur on a holiday. On days when school is delayed, no additional compensation will be paid beyond the employee’s regularly scheduled hours. All employees except Bus Drivers and Bus Aides are expected to report to work at their normal start times.

  • CALAMITY DAYS 1. All employees shall be paid their appropriate rate of pay for all days or part of a day when the school system is closed owing to an epidemic or other public calamity as declared by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

  • Pandemic An epidemic that spreads over a wide area, crossing borders and defined as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and/or by the competent local authorities of the country where the loss occurred. Quarantine Isolation of the person, in the event of suspected illness or proven illness, decided by a competent local authority, in order to avoid a risk of spreading said illness in the context of an epidemic or pandemic.

  • Act of God Days A. Scheduled days of student instruction which are not held because of conditions not within the control of school authorities, such as inclement weather, fires, epidemics, mechanical breakdowns, or health conditions (as defined by city, county, or state health authorities) will be rescheduled to ensure that there are a minimum number of days of student instruction as prescribed by Michigan law.

  • Critical Illness Three (3) days per year with pay shall be granted in the case of critical illness or accident to a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in Section 7.4. A statement by the physician verifying the illness or accident is life threatening and the need for the employee to be present with the immediate family member shall be attached to the employee’s Report of Absence form when submitted to his or her immediate supervisor. To qualify for critical illness leave, the situation must be or relate to an illness or condition involving the danger of death.

  • Sabotage Sabotage is of concern to all Parties involved on any work site and may affect safety, and therefore both the physical and mental well being of all persons on site. The Parties to this Agreement will not tolerate sabotage, and will ensure that any person/s responsible for such action is immediately dismissed. It is accepted that the relevant authorities may have to be notified, and provisions of the OH&S Act implemented.

  • Extra Hours For the purpose of Clause 20.13, extra hours means any hours available to be worked in excess of an employee’s regular schedule. The Corporation shall determine the extra hours it requires in each circumstance, and offer such hours to employees working in that Post Office in accordance with the provisions of this Clause.

  • Accident INVESTIGATIONS Whenever an accident occurs involving the equipment or personnel of a Supporting Party, the Protecting Party shall take immediate steps to notify the Supporting Party that an accident has occurred. As soon as practical, the Protecting Party shall initiate an investigation of the accident. A team made up of appropriate representatives from all affected agencies shall conduct the investigation. Costs for investigation personnel are Party-specific and will be borne by the sending Party. Other accident or incident investigation costs are the fiscal responsibility of the Party (ies) that has jurisdiction and/or investigative responsibility. The sharing of information between Parties on accident investigations and their findings and probable causes is a valuable tool for safety and must be encouraged.
