Class Spec. 1. The Lead Hand classification shall be used for temporary assignments only. 2. Progression from Step 1 to Step 2 of the Lead Hand wage scale shall occur following satisfactory performance and the completion of twelve (12) months consecutive service or 2080 hours (260 payroll days) worked as a Lead Hand. 3. Notwithstanding (2), the principle to be followed when determining the level of pay for acting Lead Hand is that they will be paid a rate which is higher than the highest paid classification supervised.

Blacktop laying, fifty cents (50¢) per hour in addition to Employee’s regular hourly rate payable to each Employee who comes in physical contact with the blacktop being spread. The minimum amount paid shall be two dollars and forty cents ($2.40) in a normal working day.
Class Spec. 3029 & 3039 Temporary Labourers and Park Attendants are not eligible for higher rates of pay for the operation of any equipment, up to but excluding air brake equipment. Please refer also to Appendix 6.

Class Spec. 3029 & 3039 “Seasonal” Labourers and Park Attendants will advance from Step 1 to Step 2 of their pay grade once they have completed 1040 hours (six months full-time equivalent) of service in their capacity as a seasonal Employee with the District (subject to satisfactory performance.) This can be accumulated within a maximum 24-month period over more than one “season” or assignment.
Class Spec. 3020 & 3030 1. Effective January 1, 2009: Labourers and Park Attendants will advance from Step 2 to Step 3 of their pay scale once they have completed an additional 2080 hours (twelve months full-time equivalent) of service subject to satisfactory performance and successful completion of specified courses. Current Park Attendant and Labourer Employees will have their hours calculated to determine the appropriate step placement that will come into effect January 1, 2009. Temporary Employees will have their hours calculated based on time worked between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2008. No Employee will suffer a reduction in pay as a result of this agreement. 2.
