COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. Teachers who are required during their planning period to substitute for an absent teacher shall be compensated at the following rate: $15.00 per class period.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. 22 The District will pay teachers at their per diem rate for each hour they are requested to cover a class 23 during their normal preparation period.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. All licensed/certified personnel who substitute for others at the request of the principal during their planning time will be compensated $10.00 per class period. When a substitute teacher cannot be obtained and other teachers are assigned additional students during their regular teaching time, said teachers shall be compensated a prorated portion of the additional class assigned to the teacher, which shall not be less than $2.50 per period. All assignments of licensed/certified personnel to substitute during their planning time or to take on larger than their normal class load during their regular teaching time shall be voluntary, except in emergency situations. Request for payment must be made on the proper form and submitted within three working days to the Superintendent’s office.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. 1. Every reasonable effort will be made to secure a substitute teacher before a regular teacher is asked to serve as a substitute.
2. If it is necessary to have a regular teacher substitute during his/her conference/planning period, it shall be done on an equitable rotation and each teacher who substitutes shall be paid at the rate of $20.00 per class period. The time slip will be signed by the principal and teacher and sent to the treasurer for payment.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING assigned teacher may be used as a temporary substitute teacher as provided for in the following paragraphs: When a regularly assigned teacher is requested to substitute by the building administrator and accepts, he or she shall be compensated at a per period rate of $21. The provisions of this policy shall apply equally to secondary teachers who may take over an entire class period or to an elementary teacher who may be assigned supervision of 50% or more students from another teacher's room. With regard to such instances that a substitute teacher cannot be secured in special program areas such as remedial reading, learning disabilities, Title 1 programs and other similar programs, the regular classroom teacher will not receive substitute salary compensation unless the classroom teacher is required to assume responsibility for the students during a planning period whereby he/she does not have responsibility for other students. It is understood that if there is mutual agreement between teachers to exchange classes, or to supervise another teacher's class with the approval of the principal, no compensation will be required. The evaluation procedure shall be approved by KSDE to meet all requirements of ESEA/ESSA and shall include appropriate professional learning. The NEA-Kingman County President or his designee shall be invited to participate in training related to the teacher evaluation and/or walk- through observation instrument. It is further agreed that the procedure shall conform to current statute; e.g. K.S.A. 72-2407 et seq.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. 1. Every reasonable effort will be made to secure a regular substitute before a regular teacher is asked to serve as a substitute. In those cases where substitutes are not available, any teacher(s) who agree, may be used as substitutes to cover the class (in whole or part) of the absent teacher(s). He/she will be compensated at the rate of $10.00 per class period. A teacher shall be compensated for substituting if he/she agrees to cover the class (whole or part) of another teacher while retaining his/her current class load. The maximum that will be paid will be $60.00 per day excluding planning period.
2. Any teacher who agrees to substitute or who retains his/her class during his/her scheduled lunch period or scheduled planning period will be compensated.
3. A teacher who agrees to assume the teaching duties of an absent teacher but who does not retain his/her own class load shall not receive additional compensation.
4. A teacher, who retains students normally “pulled out” for small group or individual instruction when the special teacher is unavailable, shall not receive additional compensation.
5. Title teachers cannot substitute except during their planning time and lunchtime.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. A. Every reasonable effort will be made to secure a regular substitute before a regular teacher is asked to serve as a substitute.
B. Reassignment may only occur when no substitute is available and when the administrator’s only option is to fill the vacant position from within the staff. Administration may not reassign an appropriately certified teacher based on a need, when such an action results in the reassigned teacher’s class being filled by a substitute.
C. Any teacher reassigned to substitute for an entire day for an absent teacher will be compensated at the sub rate. Compensation for partial day substitutions will be determined on a per period basis.
D. In those cases where a substitute is not available, any teacher agreeing to substitute may be used to cover the class (in whole or part) of the absent teacher. Teachers will be compensated at the rate of thirty dollars ($30.00) per 7-12 class period and seven dollars and fifty cents ($7.50) per fifteen (15) minute increments in grades K-6.
E. Any teacher whose classroom is impacted by the addition of five (5) or more regular education students (including gifted) or three (3) or more special needs students shall be entitled to compensation at the aforementioned rate.

COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING. Teachers requested to cover classes in lieu of a substitute shall be paid $10.00 for each class period covered and twenty-five dollars ($25.00) if during their prep period.
COMPENSATION FOR SUBSTITUTING on standby shifts
1. Standby shifts are intended to cover unexpected absences in the schedule, for example in the event of illness or incidents. If you have been scheduled for a standby shift and an unexpected absence occurs, you will cover that shift.
2. If you cover another shift from a standby shift, the compensation for changed working hours (Article 4.8) applies to substitute hours before 7 am and after 6 pm.
