Conducting Interviews. All individuals considered for assignment to the contract will be interviewed by a minimum of two individuals; one of these will be our CEO, Mr. Xxxxxx Xxxx or HR Manager Xxxxxx Xxxx and the other will be a technical person with the specific background required by the individual to be assigned to the project. This serves two purposes, first, having a technical person involved results in a more in depth evaluation of the technical competence of the prospect and, second, two sets of eyes and ears usually gathers more information. Both individuals will follow the check list described above and criteria which include the applicability of the individual’s experience to the assignment, education, maturity, personal goals and professionalism.
Conducting Interviews. EHR implemented Skype interviews for new candidates. This provides our recruiters with the knowledge that they are speaking with the actual person matching the resume. Numerous body shops have Subject Matter Experts who attend telephone interviews and then someone less skilled shows up for the assignment. We assign Subject Matter Experts to conduct the knowledge and experience interview. The Subject Matter Experts receive resumes within their base of knowledge. They schedule interviews to review the candidates resume and also assess their knowledge. The interview questions vary based upon the type of skills, years of experience and previous projects. Once an initial knowledge and experience interview is completed the Subject Matter Expert documents their notes and make recommendations. Recommendations can vary from removing the candidate from future assignments to modifying their skill set; i.e. changing from an Advanced-Level to Intermediate.
Conducting Interviews. The authors conducted six semi-structured interviews in one month period from 29th March - 28th April 2011. Each interview lasted 45-75 minutes and was undertaken in the respondents' respective workplaces. The respondents represented different public administrations and organizations and were located in six different provinces in the southern and middle part of Sweden. The diversity of locations demonstrates the importance of the issue for the whole Sweden and not just for one province or city. The respondents represent different levels of the hierarchy when it comes to legal matters on cemeteries, see table 1. The reason behind the two interviews with XXXX was that the first respondent suggested an interview with a colleague since not all questions were answered. Respondents' personal details are excluded due to ethical reasons. The interviews were conducted in English which is not mother tongue neither for interviewers nor the respondents. If the respondents got stuck they had an assistance to translate from Swedish to English. The questions were adjusted to fit respondents from different organizations although the core of questions was the same. Reasons for changes were for example different questions order for the purpose of better understandability, omitting no longer relevant questions and implementation of new questions. The interviewers also got more experience to conduct the interviews which also to some extent most probably affected the outcome. One organization answered via e-mail on own request and the answers had to be translated from Swedish into English. The number of prepared questions for each interview varied from 18 to 20. The questionnaire for the organization which answered via e-mail comprised 15 questions. Some of the original questions are enclosed as a general overview, see Appendix 1. To just read them could however cause a misleading impression, because not all findings are answers to the original questions. The prepared questions served just as a framework and a way to get deeper into the issues of interest. In order to understand and expand the answers subsidiary questions were asked and are not among the prepared questions. Xxxxx & Xxxxxxxxx (2009: 135-136) described different types of questions, for the interviews follow-up and probing questions were used with the intention to get more information and knowledge. It would be very complicated, if not impossible, to try to write them all down in order to provide the complete ove...
Conducting Interviews. The study participants had three options for a one-on-one interview: face-to-face (in person), web-based video/audio conferencing, or teleconference. All twenty-six participants opted to interview via the web-based platform. The advantages of virtual interviews included accessibility without the cost of travel, scheduling flexibility across different time zones, and ease of audio and visual data capture (Xxxxx & Xxxxxx, 2009; Xxxxx & Xxxxx, 2017). I selected the JoinMe platform for the first eight interviews. The JoinMe platform offered an automatic scheduling feature, toll-free access, voice-over-internet protocol (VOIP), and call recording (audio only). I selected the Zoom platform for the additional 18 interviews because Zoom offered audio and video recording and the basic service offered by JoinMe. Both web-based platforms were effective alternatives to face-to-face interviews because the platforms enabled synchronous (real-time) audio and visual interaction between the interviewer and interviewee (Xxxxx & Xxxxx, 2017). Participants were emailed instructions on how to access the web-based conferencing platform. The JoinMe and Zoom platforms provided recorded files immediately following the interviews. The JoinMe (audio files) and the Zoom (audio and visual) files have been stored on a secure, cloud-based platform. The names of participants have been changed to pseudonyms to protect anonymity. The names of organizations have also been masked to protect confidentiality. The first eight interviews were scheduled and conducted between July 2016 and September 2016. I conducted the second set of 18 interviews between December 2018 and July 2019. I scheduled the initial eight interviews for one hour as a courtesy to participants. However, in three cases, the interview extended beyond the hour, with the participants' permission. The most extended interview lasted 1 hour and 23 minutes. I scheduled all future interviews for at least 90 minutes. Some participants prepared several stories to share and needed minimal prompting. Others needed prompts to help them stay on track. And at least one participant had trouble thinking of examples related to the research questions. In the latter case, I shifted the conversation to elicit more background information on his use of AI, which seemed to relax him. Within a few moments, he was able to share a challenging encounter in his AI practice. The interview protocol was helpful as a guide; however, I conducted each intervi...
