Conversion to Sick Leave. Upon employee’s request, accrued annual leave shall be converted to sick leave in case of serious documented illness.
Conversion to Sick Leave. 36.§8.1 Employees on annual leave who become ill or are injured and who thereby require (1) hospitalization, (2) emergency surgery/treatment and convalescence therefrom, or (3) medically-prescribed confinement may convert such period of time to sick leave.
36.§8.2 Employees who return home from or significantly interrupt annual leave because of death, injury or illness of a person other than the employee, for which sick leave could normally be used, may convert such time to sick leave, provided that such illness or injury requires (1) hospitalization and/or (2) emergency surgery/treatment and convalescence requiring the presence of the employee. Employees on annual leave at home shall have the same privilege.
36.§8.3 Upon the Employer’s request, an employee seeking to convert annual leave to sick leave under this Article must produce written medical verification as required by the Employer describing and verifying the injury or illness and hospitalization or treatment therefrom.
36.§8.4 When placing an employee on a medical leave of absence for which the employee will be receiving benefits under the University’s Long-term Disability Insurance Program, the Employer will not charge any paid time to the employee’s annual leave if the employee has requested the Employer not to do so, in writing.
Conversion to Sick Leave. 1) Any teacher who wants his/her unused personal leave to be converted to sick leave days must complete and turn in the “Personal Leave Form” (Attachment 8) to the District Treasurer by June 15th or the benefit is forfeited.
2) The personal leave days that were converted to sick leave days shall be reflected in the teacher’s sick leave accumulation in the first August paycheck.
Conversion to Sick Leave. The number of withheld days converted to sick leave shall not increase the amount sick leave for which an employee may receive an annual cash payment under Section 10.03. Unless the employee has elected to convert any withheld day(s) to sick leave on or before November 15, the withheld day(s) shall be carried over.
Conversion to Sick Leave. Unused personal leave will be converted, on an equal basis (i.e., one-half (1/2) unused personal day equals one-half (1/2) accumulated sick leave day), to a bargaining unit member’s accumulated sick leave total at the end of each school year.

Any days not converted, carried over, or used, shall be forfeited.

Conversion to Sick Leave. Any unused personal business leave not accumulated for use in later years as personal business leave shall be added to the employee’s accumulated sick leave.
