At the JSHS, covers will be compensated at $25 per period, or any portion thereof, or $15 per period, or any portion thereof during non- teaching assignments. Junior and Senior High School teachers may elect to earn comp time in lieu of financial compensation for covering classes. Comp time shall equal the time spent covering and may only be used when the teacher is not assigned to a class or duty or if the teacher has secured coverage for duties only by a volunteer teacher who is available. At the elementary schools, covers will be compensated at $35 per period (of approximately forty-five (45) minutes), or any portion thereof, or $15 per period, or any portion thereof during non-teaching assignments. When a teacher in a co-taught classroom voluntarily declines a cover for his/her teaching partner, he/she shall not be eligible for coverage compensation. In the event that no cover is provided for an absent teacher in a co-taught classroom, the remaining teacher shall be compensated for each period/block as required by documented IEP services at the rate of $15 per period, or any portion thereof. The Association President and Vice President will not be required to cover classes.

Covers. All cover under this policy is afforded solely with respect to Claims first made against an Insured during the Policy Period and reported to the Insurer as required by this policy. Professional Liability The Insurer will pay on behalf of any Insured all Damages resulting from any Claim for any Breach of Duty of the Insured. Fraud/Dishonesty The Insurer will pay on behalf of any Insured, who is not the actual perpetrator, all Damages resulting from any Claim for Fraud/Dishonesty of any Employee. Defence The Insurer has the right to defend any Claim which this policy may respond to under its Covers or Extensions. The Insurer shall pay Defence Costs incurred in defending such Claim. The Insurer is under no obligation to pay Loss, unless the Wrongful Act: (i) first takes place on or after the Retroactive Date; and (ii) is committed solely in the performance of or failure to perform Professional Services Court Attendance for any person described in (i) and (ii) below who actually attends court as a witness in connection with a Claim notified under and covered by this policy, Defence Costs will include the following rates per day for each day on which attendance in court has been required:

(2) ARTISTS engaged to sing one role (“Contracted Role”) while covering a different role (“Covered Role”) shall be paid one-half of the minimum per performance compensation due for such Covered Role for each performance covered up to five hundred dollars ($500) per performance in addition to the contracted fee for the Contracted Role. If the ARTIST performs the Covered Role in a performance, the ARTIST shall be paid for that performance no less than the balance of the minimum per performance compensation due such Covered Role and one-half of the minimum per performance compensation due for the Contracted Role up to five hundred dollars ($500) per performance.
Covers. (1) Should an Artist engaged to sing a role on a per-performance basis be required to cover a different role in the same production, the Artist will receive no less than 1 per-performance fee for the role being covered, in addition to the contractual compensation for the primary role being performed. (2) Should an Artist be engaged for a production solely to cover a single role on a per- performance basis, the Artist will receive no less than the following: 1 cover fee for first covered performance of the role covered. ½ additional fee for each subsequent covered performance of the role covered. Coaching (a musical session involving Artist and a repetiteur and/or a language coach), when requested by Artist or when necessary to bring Artist up to the level of preparation required by Artist's contract, shall not be considered rehearsal time. (3) In the case of a Per-Performance Artist who covers more than 1 role in the same production, the Artist shall receive for each additional role covered ½ of the compensation due for the first role covered under subparagraph (c)(1) or (2) above, as appropriate. In instances where the roles covered are of different classifications, the Artist shall receive a full cover fee for the role with the highest classification, and ½ of the applicable cover fee for each additional role covered. (4) Should the Artist be required to perform the role covered, they shall receive their contractual performance fee for that part (or the applicable minimum fee for that role, whichever is higher) in addition to the Artist's aforementioned cover fee.
