CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. 30.01 New or rehired employees shall receive credit for past experience, for purpose of wage rate only.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. 31.01 Claim for recent related clinical experience, if any, shall be made in writing by the nurse at the time of hiring on the application for employment form or otherwise. The nurse shall co-operate with the Home by providing verification of previous experience so that her recent related clinical experience may be determined and evaluated during her probationary period. Having established the recent related clinical experience, the Home will credit a new nurse with one (1) increment for each year of experience up to the maximum of the salary grid. Note: for greater clarity, recent related experience includes recent related RN experience out of province and out of country. If a period of more than two (2) years has elapsed since the nurse has occupied a full-time or a part-time nursing position, then the number of increments to be paid, if any, shall be at the discretion of the Home.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. 20.01 An employee who voluntarily resigns her position and returns to the service of the Division within three (3) years will be placed at her former step on the salary scale.

CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. Claims for recent related clinical experience, if any, shall be established in writing by the Registered Nurse making this claim no later than twenty-one (21) days after date of hire. The applicant shall co-operate with the Home by providing such verification so that her recent related clinical experience may be determined and evaluated prior to the end of her probationary period. Having established what, in the Home’s view, is recent, relevant clinical experience, the Home will credit the new employee with one (1) increment for each complete year of relevant recent clinical experience. This will have no retroactive effect on current staff. Notwithstanding article 6.05 New and current employees may also advance one additional step on the grid if, during their employment as a Registered Nurse at the Home, they successfully complete a course of study, recognized and approved by the Home as follows:
(A) Successful completion of a two (2) year post Registered Nurse’s diploma, minimum of three hundred (300) hours, in areas such as gerontology and long term care; dementia studies or palliative care.
(B) Other Diploma courses may be considered, for this credit, subject to the employee receiving written authorization from the Home prior to registering for such a program. All such courses of Professional Development are taken at the employee’s time and expense.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. 22.01 At the discretion of the appropriate Supervisory Officer, related professional experience may be recognized to grant credit of up to one (1) increment below the maximum levels on the appropriate salary scale in Appendix A for each year of prior professional experience.
22.02 An “acceptable year of professional experience” shall be defined as one (1) year of relevant full-time employment, or the amount of time equivalent to one (1) year of full-time employment but accumulated through part-time employment.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. Full credit for applicable previous full-time teaching experience of up to ten (10) years may be given on the salary matrix. Such experience must be applicable to the teaching assignment offered. The Board reserves the right to judge applicability of experience to be counted on this schedule and make adjustment in new teacher placement as deemed necessary according to the District’s need.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. Full credit for teaching experience outside of the District may be granted at the discretion of the Board of Education at the time of probationary appointment.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. Any person making application for employment under this apprenticeship plan will be given credit for past practical shop experience, apprentice training experience or other experience, which entitles such person to be placed in training at a level higher than that of a beginner.
CREDIT FOR PAST EXPERIENCE. The Director or designate may grant credit of one (1) increment level up to the category maximum on the appropriate salary scale for each year of prior experience. An acceptable year of professional experience shall be defined as one year of relevant full-time employment, or the amount of time equivalent to one year of full-time employment, but accumulated through part-time employment. Past professional experience submitted by the Member for the purpose of establishing placement on the grid is subject to satisfactory verification by the Board. Members will be responsible for providing Human Resources with details of the experience within 30 working days of their appointment to the role. This timeline may be extended where the Member can demonstrate difficulties obtaining supporting documentation.
