Apprentice Training. The Employer recognises that in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of the Employer, a significant commitment to structured training and skill development is required. They also recognise the importance of the apprenticeship system to the construction industry. Therefore, the Parties agree:
(a) If the Employer employs seven (7) or more tradespeople, in any one (1) classification it undertakes to employ an apprentice(s) or make arrangements to host an apprentice from an agreed scheme.
(b) The Employer is committed to ensuring that apprentices receive appropriate on the job training by experienced tradespeople and apprentice numbers are maximised, to this end the Employer will endeavor to maintain at least one (1) apprentice to every seven

13.2 Adult means any person who is 21 years of age or over at the time of commencing an apprenticeship.
13.3 While Adult Apprentices' wage rates are nominally based on a percentage of the relevant all purpose trade rate (C10) for the work on which they are engaged, as set out below, they will be paid in accordance with the tables in Appendix B of this Agreement.

Apprentice Training. The parties to this Agreement recognize a need for training and apprentice positions particularly in the Department of Public Works. To this end the Joint Union Management Committee will discuss the creation of trainee positions and further apprenticeship programs with a view to upgrading present Employees.
Apprentice Training. (a) In order to properly and fully train learners in the art of meat cutting, the span of control is fixed at one (1) apprentice to every four (4) journeymen or fraction thereof, and apprentices shall be employed in accordance with this formula. Markets employing less than four (4) journeymen may employ and train one (1) apprentice.
(b) On-the-job training of apprentices shall be in accordance with the California Apprenticeship Low (Xxxxxxx-Xxxxxxx Act) as set forth in the California Labor Code.

Apprentice Training. 1. It is the mutual intention of the parties that the Fund referred to in Article XXII of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement includes, encompasses and specifically provides for the conduct of an Apprentice Training Program.
2. The number of apprentices per project shall be determined at the prejob meeting. Only one (1) first year apprentice per project. The Union will be in compliance with D.O.T. specifications at all times.
3. The following schedules of wages shall be applicable to apprentices:
(a) 0-1,000 hours – 60% of the B rate. (b) 1,001 – 2,000 hours – 70% of the B rate. (c) 2,001 – 3,000 hours – 80% of the B rate. (d) 3,001 – 4,000 hours – 90% of the B rate. Plus the full amount of the applicable fringe benefits for District 545 and District 832. Apprentice Training. (a) The apprentice will work towards achieving the qualification of a trade certificate in Sprinkler Fitting / Fire Protection or any subsequent equivalent certificate III in Services (Fire Protection). The apprentices will do their course by block release.
(b) Where an apprentice cannot reasonably be expected to travel to and from his/her residence each day during the period of Block Release Training, return travel between his/her usual place of residence and the city where the course is conducted will be arranged by the Employer at no cost to the apprentice. The Employer will also arrange suitable accommodation to be available at no cost to the apprentice.
(c) Fees due by an apprentice for attending the Sprinkler Fitting Trade Course shall be paid by the Employer at the time such fees become due. Where an apprentice fails to complete a course of study or fails a particular subject any additional fees due in order to complete the course will be the responsibility of the apprentice.
Apprentice Training. (i) The Employer must provide training and/or access to training consistent with the Training Agreement without loss of pay.
(ii) Time spent by an Apprentice in attending any training and assessment specified in, or associated with, the Training Agreement is to be regarded as time worked for the purposes of calculating the Apprentice’s wages and determining the Apprentice’s employment conditions.
