Dog Handlers. During the time an employee is assigned the additional duties ofdog handler", that employee shall receive an increase to base salary of five percent (5%). Employees so assigned shall have no vested rights to such assignment and may be reassigned at the discretion of the Sheriff for operational reasons.

Dog Handlers. Employees assigned as Dog Handlers will receive three (3) hours paid time per week for canine care within the employee’s regularly scheduled forty (40) hour work week.

Demonstrate ability to apply good judgment, common sense, and the appropriate Highway Patrol policy to a variety of situations. In addition, performance, education, experience, communication skills, deportment, and supervisory opinion supported by fact will be considered. 3. Demonstrate ability, which may include past interest and participation in the Highway Patrol Drug Interdiction Program. 4. Demonstrate an understanding of the laws of arrest and search and seizure. 5. The Trooper must be in and maintain good physical condition. 6. Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to act as an instructor or presenter before large groups, both public and law enforcement. 7. The Trooper/Dog Handler and his family must be willing to accept the added responsibility of caring for a large canine. Careful consideration will be given to the impact on the family. A committee representative or designee will meet with the persons who reside with the trooper candidate to ensure all are given a realistic preview of the inherent possibilities and potential adjustments associated with the dog handler position. 8. The Trooper/Dog Handler must have the ability and sufficient property to have erected a 6x10x6 kennel with a doghouse and to keep a dog at the residence. 9. Trooper/Dog Handlers selected for the assignment must agree to a minimum three (3) year assignment as a Dog Handler. A contract will be entered into by the parties which imposes a financial penalty for failure to fulfill a three (3) year assignment. The monetary penalty will be pro- rated based upon the cost of training the Trooper/Dog Handler. Extenuating mitigating circumstances will be considered. 10. The Trooper candidate will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to a scheduled interview with the selection committee. The interview will focus on the following areas. a. Explanation of the assignment. b. Laws of arrest and search and seizure. c. A review of the Trooper’s qualifications. d. The Trooper’s interests, expectations and questions concerning the position. e. The selection committee will consist of the following staff officers: i. Dog Handlers. Officers assigned as dog handlers will receive an additional five (5%) assignment pay adjustment during the time they serve in this assignment. Dog Handler canine training activities will be conducted on duty. Dog Handlers accept and may resign from the position voluntarily. Acceptance of the assignment is based upon willingness to care for the animal off-duty as a family pet/household member as provided for in Wage and Horn's rules of the US Department of Labor. The parties agree that commuting to work with the dog does not constitute "hours of work" solely because the dog is in the vehicle. Dog masters and Dog Handlers will not be entitled to a call back premium when duty concerns emergency care of their animal. Such time will be paid at either straight time or overtime if applicable.
Dog Handlers. It is the intent of this provision to provide full compensation as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act to those members who are responsible for the care, feeding, exercising, and boarding of a Township-owned dog. Every calendar month each canine officer will be provided with twelve (12) hours of A/T time and two (2) hours of pay at the regular rate. As further compensation, the Township agrees to provide a marked police unit that the officer may use to transport his canine to and from work. It is agreed that the use of this vehicle off- duty is restricted and can only be used when the officer is involved in a duty related function.

  • Dewatering (a) Where the whole of a site is so affected by surface water following a period of rain that all productive work is suspended by agreement of the Parties, then dewatering shall proceed as above with Employees so engaged being paid at penalty rates as is the case for safety rectification work. This work is typically performed by Employees engaged within CW1, CW2 or CW3 classifications. When other Employees are undertaking productive work in an area or areas not so affected then dewatering will only attract single time rates. (b) Where a part of a site is affected by surface water following a period of rain, thus rendering some areas unsafe for productive work, consistent with the Employer’s obligations under the OH&S Act, appropriate Employees shall assist in the tidying up of their own work site or area if it is so affected. Where required, appropriate Employees will be provided with the appropriate PPE. Such work to be paid at single time rates. Productive work will continue in areas not so affected. (c) To avoid any confusion any ‘dewatering’ time which prevents an Employee from being engaged in their normal productive work is not included in any calculation for the purposes of determining whether an Employee is entitled to go home due to wet weather (refer clauses 32.4 and 32.5)

  • Blasting Blasting shall be permitted only for road construction purposes unless advance permission is obtained from Forest Service. Whenever the Industrial Fire Precaution Level is II or greater, a fire security person equipped with a long handled round point No. 0 or larger shovel and a 5 gallon backpack pump can filled with water, will stay at location of blast for 1 hour after blasting is done. Blasting may be suspended by Forest Service, in areas of high rate of spread and resistance to control. Fuses shall not be used for blasting. Explosive cords shall not be used without permission of Forest Service, which may specify conditions under which such explosives may be used and precautions to be taken.

  • Drainage Systems (1) Clear culvert inlets, outlets, and sediment catching basins. (2) Maintain waterbars, drainage dips, and other water diversion measures. (3) During active use, patrol and maintain functional drainage. (4) Repair damaged culvert ends.

  • Configuration Management The Contractor shall maintain a configuration management program, which shall provide for the administrative and functional systems necessary for configuration identification, control, status accounting and reporting, to ensure configuration identity with the UCEU and associated cables produced by the Contractor. The Contractor shall maintain a Contractor approved Configuration Management Plan that complies with ANSI/EIA-649 2011. Notwithstanding ANSI/EIA-649 2011, the Contractor’s configuration management program shall comply with the VLS Configuration Management Plans, TL130-AD-PLN-010-VLS, and shall comply with the following:

  • Classroom Management The certificated classroom teacher demonstrates in his/her performance a competent level of knowledge and skill in organizing the physical and human elements in the educational setting.

  • Safety Glasses Section 1. The City shall supply prescription safety glasses with plastic lenses to employees who are required to wear safety glasses and who are members of the classifications contained in Appendix C to this contract. Safety glasses which are authorized must be industrial grade safety glasses which meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI Specification Z87. 1. All employees who are required to wear safety glasses shall also be required to wear side xxxxxxx, either permanent or snap-on, whenever an eye hazard exists. Solid tinted glasses will not be approved unless required by prescription. Photogray, progressive, scratch coating and/or anti-glare lenses may be considered for those employees who primarily work outdoors or as prescribed. In the event that additional classes are identified as needing either prescription safety glasses or protective eyewear, such classes may be added to the classification list in Appendix C upon approval of PAGE and the City. Section 2. The City agrees to pay the full cost of required prescription safety glasses, with frames not to exceed $75.00. This excludes the cost of the eye examination which will be the responsibility of the employee. The effected employees will be allowed one (1) replacement of safety glasses every two (2) years. In the event the safety glasses become lost, unserviceable, or broken on the job, the employee must present a written request for replacement to the Department Head and Human Resources Director. If the employee breaks his safety glasses while on the job, the Department shall replace the glasses at no cost to the employee. The replacement of lost glasses or glasses that are broken off the job will be at the discretion of the Department Head and Human Resources Director. If an employee has been provided safety glasses by the City, the employee shall be permitted to retain possession of the glasses after separation from the City without reimbursing the City for any costs associated with the glasses. Section 3. An employee who is required to wear prescription safety glasses must present a written request to his department head or designated representative. Section 4. The employee must obtain a current prescription and the employee is authorized the use of sick leave not to exceed two (2) hours to accomplish this examination. The employee will obtain a purchase order from the Department Head prior to ordering the safety glasses. The employee will present the purchase order to the appropriate vendor when ordering. The vendor will contact the appropriate Department Head when the glasses are ready for delivery. The Department Head will then notify the employee who will present himself at the vendor for fitting and pickup. Section 5. In the event a probationary employee has been issued safety glasses and terminates his employment with the City for any reason during the probationary period, he shall be required to reimburse the City for any expenses incurred in the purchase of safety glasses.

  • Catering Cafeteria style of serving meals will be acceptable, providing dishes are carried back by the Culinary Staff. The food shall be of good quality and have the approval of the Camp Committee of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario. There shall be sufficient housekeeping staff supplied by the Culinary Workers to keep the bunkhouses clean, and beds shall be made up each day by such staff. Kitchen facilities, equipment and food supplies shall be subject to inspection by the duly authorized Camp Committee at any and all times and further all grievances shall be dealt with by said Committee.

  • Network Management 60.1 CLEC and CenturyLink will exchange appropriate information (e.g., network information, maintenance contact numbers, escalation procedures, and information required to comply with requirements of law enforcement and national security agencies) for network management purposes. In addition, the Parties will apply sound network management principles to alleviate or to prevent traffic congestion and to minimize fraud associated with third number billed calls, calling card calls, and other services related to this Agreement. 60.2 The Parties will employ characteristics and methods of operation that will not interfere with or impair the Parties’ networks, or the network of any third parties or Affiliated companies, connected with or involved directly in the network or facilities of CenturyLink. 60.3 CLEC shall not interfere with or impair service over any circuits, facilities or equipment of CenturyLink, its Affiliated companies, or its connecting and concurring carriers. 60.4 If CLEC causes any impairment or interference, CenturyLink shall promptly notify CLEC of the nature and location of the problem and that, unless promptly rectified, a temporary discontinuance of the use of any circuit, facility or equipment may be required. The Parties agree to work together to attempt to promptly resolve the impairment or interference. If CLEC is unable to promptly remedy, then CenturyLink may, at its option, temporarily discontinue the use of the affected circuit, facility or equipment until the impairment is remedied. 60.5 Any violation of Applicable Law or regulation regarding the invasion of privacy of any communications carried over CenturyLink’s facilities, or that creates hazards to the employees of CenturyLink or to the public, is also considered an impairment of service. 60.6 CenturyLink shall give advanced notice to CLEC of all non-scheduled maintenance or other planned network activities to be performed by CenturyLink on any Network Element, including any hardware, equipment, software, or system, providing service functionality of which CLEC has advised CenturyLink may potentially impact CLEC End Users. 60.7 The Parties shall provide notice of network changes and upgrades in accordance with 47 C.F.R. §§51.325 through 51.335. CenturyLink may discontinue any Interconnection arrangement, Telecommunications Service, or Network Element provided or required hereunder due to network changes or upgrades after providing CLEC notice as required by this Section. CenturyLink agrees to cooperate with CLEC and/or the appropriate regulatory body in any transition resulting from such discontinuation of service and to minimize the impact to customers which may result from such discontinuance of service.
