EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE LEAVE. The Chancellor or College President may grant to Regular and Contract I, II, and III members leave with pay to attend educational conferences and meetings which have as their purpose or theme programs which will improve the operation of the District, or, the ability of the employee to perform their duties more effectively.

EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE LEAVE. An educational conference leave and expenses may be granted by the Superintendent or his designee. A teacher may request leave and agreed-upon expenses to attend an educational conference that provides appropriate educational benefits for the teacher and students of his/her class or the District. Travel expenses shall be limited to the most economical mode of travel. Lodging shall be limited to the actual cost. Meal expenses shall be at the Board-approved rate except when meals are included in the conference charges. Mileage shall be paid at the board-approved rate if a private car is used. Participants shall endeavor to arrange transportation to the site on a group basis. 1. An ad hoc District committee, which includes representatives appointed by the Lodi Education Association, shall consult about annual staff development programs in the District. The committee will discuss staff development content, schedules, and planning and implementation processes. The committee will share its findings with District administration, which will consider these in planning for the ensuing school year. 2. Teachers who feel they have not been given fair consideration for site conference funds should first discuss the concerns with the site administrator. If they are unable to resolve the issue satisfactorily, the teacher may appeal to the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary or Secondary Education.
EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE LEAVE. Unit members shall have available educational conference leave after review by the building principal and granted or denied at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools, or designee. If denied, the unit member will be informed of the reason. Educational conference leave days will not be deducted from sick or personal leave day allotments.
EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE LEAVE. 8:1.1 Each teacher shall be allowed a maximum of two (2) days leave per year for educational conferences and/or professional visitations. Written application must be forwarded to the Superintendent two (2) weeks prior to the conference or visitation, if possible, and the application must be duly approved by the Superintendent. 8:1.2 No more than ten (10) teachers shall be approved for conferences on a given day. The limitation of ten (10) shall not include the following: a. teachers requested by the administration to attend a conference b. teachers for whom no substitute is required. 8:1.3 Nothing herein precludes the Superintendent from waiving the above restriction. 8:1.4 Priority will be given to conferences for which pre-registration and/or payment is required. Central Office shall make every effort to respond to conference requests within two (2) working days of receipt of request. 8:1.5 A written report containing a summary of the conference, a brief description of the teacher's participation in it, and related materials pertinent to the Bristol school system may be required. The administration shall provide a form for this purpose when the leave is approved. 8:1.6 In the event a substitute is not available for a teacher to attend a previously approved conference and the teacher is required to work, he/she shall be reimbursed for any out-of-pocket conference costs, which shall not be charged against the annual allowance.

  • PRE-JOB CONFERENCE a) The Employer shall notify the union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference shall be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in the Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties. b) A copy of the pre-job conference report shall be provided to the Employer, the Union and the Job Xxxxxxx (s). A copy shall also be posted on the bulletin board(s) at the jobsite.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Informal Conference An employee against whom the disciplinary action is being considered may be requested to attend an informal conference with the immediate supervisor, his/her designee and/or a Human Resources Administrator prior to official written notification or any recommended disciplinary action. At such conference, the employee shall be informed orally of the specific disciplinary action being considered as well as the reasons therefore and be given an opportunity to respond thereto. At such a conference, the employee may represent himself/herself and/or be represented by a union representative. Holding such an informal conference is discretionary with the District and the failure to do so shall not invalidate any disciplinary action taken pursuant to this regulation.

  • SPECIAL CONFERENCES Special conferences for important matters may be arranged between the Union and the designated representative of the Board upon the request of either party.

  • PRE-BID CONFERENCE Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, @ 2:00 PM, located at W220 Pre-con Conference Room, 0000 Xxxxxxxxxxxxx Xxxxx (Xxxx Xxxxxxxxx) Xxxxxxx, XX 00000. Attendance is not mandatory but is encouraged.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Conference Telephone Meetings Directors or members of any committee of the Board may participate in a meeting of the Board or such committee by means of conference telephone or similar communications equipment by means of which all persons participating in the meeting can hear each other, and such participation in a meeting shall constitute presence in person at such meeting.

  • Evaluation Conference The final evaluation conference shall occur not later than the end of the fall term. The purpose of the final evaluation conference is to discuss with the probationary employee the results of the evaluation and announce the team’s recommendation. The evaluation team shall determine what additional evaluation activity shall occur during the spring term. If the team recommends that the District not employ the professor for the following year, no evaluation activities in the spring are necessary.

  • Annual Conference Vote This Disaffiliation Agreement must be “ratified by a simple majority of the members . . . present and voting” at a duly-called session of The Western North Carolina Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, as required by Judicial Council Decision 1379 and ¶ 2529.1b(3)

  • Conference Attendance The Federation will be entitled to five (5) person days per year release time for designated Federation representatives to attend conferences. All conference expenses will be the responsibility of the Federation, unless funding is requested and approved through regular District processes for conference attendance.
