EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. The District shall pay the costs associated with management approved education and training which will enhance productivity of District employees in their current job with the District. The District shall also pay costs associated with management approved education and training which will enhance the preparation of District employees for a District position in their probable career path. To be eligible for this plan, an employee shall first submit an education plan for review and consideration by the District prior to enrollment into any education incentive program. The submittal shall outline the classes, institute and duration. It will also estimate the total cost of the education and what portion will be requested for reimbursement.

To be eligible for this plan, an employee shall first submit an education plan for review and consideration by the District prior to enrollment into any education incentive program. An employee must have completed three years of full-time employment with the District and have achieved above average job performance for the last three consecutive years to be eligible for this section. The education plan submittal shall outline the classes, institute and duration. It will also estimate the total cost of the education and what portion will be requested for reimbursement.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. An Educational Incentive Program shall be continued to provide an opportunity for growth to all workers by the successful completion of district approved courses in adult education, higher education, workshops and in-service training. This shall be an ongoing program of education and study for workers in the bargaining unit of classifications set forth in Article 11 to provide skills and on-the-job effectiveness for the benefit of the district and the worker. The district approved course shall relate directly to the position currently occupied by the worker or to positions the worker may reasonably expect to occupy at some future date. Each worker shall be compensated for related courses and programs as defined above, in the amount of two dollars ($2.00) per unit (fiGeen hours of instruction) per month, to a maximum of twenty-five (25) hours or xXx dollars ($50) per month. Cost of tuition and books will be reimbursed following verification and successful completion of each course. The provisions of this section are not retroactive beyond July 1, 1977.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. ‌ For classes approved by the Human Resources Director, the cost of books and tuition shall be reimbursed by the City, subject to the guidelines specified in Administrative Memorandum based on a first-come, first-served basis.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. Employees shall receive educational incentive pay identified below when an Employee meets one (1) or more of the following: 1. A degree of Associate in Arts, General Studies in Fire Sciences, Fire Management, or Public/Fire Administration with a minimum grade average of "C" in sixty (60) semester hours of work. 2. A degree of Associate in Arts or Associate in General Studies in any field, with a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours in Fire Sciences subjects and a minimum grade average of "C". 3. A degree of Bachelor of Arts, Science, Law or in other areas of study with a minimum of twelve (12) semester hours in Fire Science subjects and a minimum grade average of "C". No course work taken after November 1, 2001 shall be recognized as a Fire Science course unless the Employee has received prior approval of the course from the Fire Chief. Under no circumstances will field courses, independent studies, credit for work experience, ride-along programs or similar credit or course work be considered as a Fire Science subject under the provisions of this Agreement. Said educational incentive pay shall be five (5) percent.
EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. 16.1 The District’s Board of Trustees will provide the following incentive for regular employees so that they may upgrade their skills and performance in order to qualify for promotion and in order to be of more value to the District. 16.2 Personnel who have reached Step 7 on the wages schedule will receive a $100 stipend for each pre-approved semester unit earned (up to four (4) per year) or for successful completion of 12 hours of pre- approved workshops, in-service participation, seminars, or conferences attended on their own time related to their current position or any other unit position in which the employee is interested. All units and/or credit must be approved by the Superintendent in advance. 16.3 An appeal process will be available through the Association representative to the Board of Trustees if the employee wishes to appeal a denial of units by the Superintendent. The decision of the Board shall be final.

EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PLAN. The following-mentioned college credits must have been earned at or accepted by an accredited California school, college or university in the field of fire science or related subject leading to an A.S. or A.A. degree in Fire Science, subject to approval of the Fire Chief. 12.5.1 Employees who have completed 15 college units (12 of which must be in Fire Science) plus certification as EMT I shall receive 2.5% additional pay. 12.5.2 Employees who have completed 30 college units (24 of which must be in Fire Science), plus certification as EMT I shall receive 5.0% additional pay. 12.5.3 Employees who have completed 60 college units (48 of which must be in Fire Science), plus certification as EMT I shall receive 7.5% additional pay. For employees hired after May 1, 2012, the Educational Incentive Plan shall be as described in Appendix C only. The Plan described in 12.5 – 12.5.3 only applies to those employees hired prior to May 1, 2012.
