Educational Incentive Program. 15.2.1 A regular monthly classified unit member covered by this Agreement shall be granted a one-step increase (up to a step maximum of step G for Office/Technical unit members) on the first (1st) of the month following verification of satisfactory completion (grade of “C” or above) of twelve (12) semester units of credit from an accredited institution. Courses must have been enrolled in and credits must have been earned subsequent to the unit member's employment with the District. Official transcripts verifying a grade of “C” or above will be considered proof of satisfactory completion, in addition to the Educational Incentive Program Request for Salary Advancement Form, shall be provided by the eligible unit member and forwarded to the Office of Human Resources. Units of credit obtained prior to promotion must be applied toward step movement within sixty (60) calendar days of effective promotion date. The unit member shall ensure that the Compensation department is aware of these additional credits within this sixty (60) day period. 15.2.2 In recognizing the importance of education, the District agrees that at the discretion of the appropriate manager, the workday may be adjusted to accommodate classified unit members to attend approved courses.

Educational Incentive Program. In order to assure high quality law enforcement services are provided to the residents of Marin County, to encourage Association members to continue to broaden their educational background and to provide recognition for those Association members who demonstrate interest in continuing their education and broadening their professional experience, Association members may participate in the County of Marin's Tuition Reimbursement Program as described by PMR 42.6.

Educational Incentive Program. Employees hired after July 1, 1980 with two (2) or more years of service as a sworn Police employee with the City of Chino will be paid a lump sum at the time of receipt of a qualifying degree. The sum will be a percentage of the employee’s total annual base salary computed as follows: For purposes of the above computation, annual base salary will be computed by reference to the monthly salary being received by the employee at the time that he/she qualifies for the degree. For purposes of the Educational Incentive Program, qualifying degrees must be in Police Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, Behavioral Science, or other course of study approved by the Chief of Police. Employees will be eligible to receive concurrently the one-time Educational Incentive Pay while continuing to receive P.O.S.T. Certificate Pay for all degrees received.
Educational Incentive Program. Employees who possess the appropriate certificates or educational degrees beyond the minimum requirements for their class and/or meet the appropriate continuing educational requirements shall be eligible to qualify for professional development educational incentives under the conditions described herein. A. Incumbents of the following classifications are eligible to participate in this incentive program: Battalion Chief (RPHA, RPHE), and Chief, Fire Emergency Medical Services (RPHD) B. All differentials shall be designated as either contingent or permanent allowances and shall be awarded in increments of 2.5% of monthly base salary. The program is intended to encourage the further professional development of eligible personnel by the pursuit and achievement of job- related certificates or degrees as follows: 1. An Associate of Arts or Science Degree from an accredited college with a major in Fire Technology, Business Administration, Management and Supervision or a related field. Employees must have been hired or promoted prior to January 1, 2020. 2. Certification as either Chief Officer or Chief Fire Officer issued by the State Fire Marshal. 3. Completion of the Executive Fire officer (EFO) program through the National Fire Academy. 4. A Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree from an accredited college or University with a major in Business, Management, Public Administration, Emergency Management or a related field. D. Qualifications for allowances shall be under the following conditions: 1. A contingent allowance of 2.5% shall be awarded for annually completing at least forty (40) hours of approved education or training or at least three (3) approved college semester units (or equivalent quarter units) or an approved combination thereof in pursuit of options (a) through (d) in Section 4 above. 2. A permanent allowance of 2.5% shall be awarded for possession of one of options (a) through (d) in Section 3 above. A maximum permanent allowance of 5% is allowable. 3. The combined contingent and permanent allowances awarded to any employee may not exceed seven and one-half percent (7.5%) of the employee’s base rate of pay. E. Educational Incentive Program a. Educational Incentive Awards are available to support all support staff in pursuing further education that will serve the needs of the school division as well as individual employees in their current or desired positions within Prairie Valley. This may include courses, seminars or classes delivered in person, by correspondence or online. More information and the application form is available on InSite. b. Support Staff Professional Development Fund will fund travel, substitute and related costs for school-based support staff who wish to attend professional development opportunities. Employees must receive prior approval from Human Resources in order for expenses to be considered for reimbursement. The PD opportunity must support student, school and system needs. Educational Incentive Program. 1. A 2-1/2% salary increase shall be granted to any regular EMPLOYEE who, (1) possesses an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science or related field, and (2) has attained Step "E" of the compensation plan or has 42 months of service as an EMPLOYEE of the CITY with a performance rating of Satisfactory or better. Once this salary increase is awarded, it shall continue regardless of future promotions to higher non-management positions in the Fire Department.
