EMPLOYEE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE. 40:01 When an employee desires to participate in job related staff developmental training courses, rebates will be given only if the requirements listed below are met. Courses which will be considered for approval are courses given by a recognized trade school, technical school, high school, college, university professional group or correspondence courses. (a) The employee must have the study course approved by: i. The Department Manager on the recommendation of the employee's Supervisor. ii. The Human Resources Division prior to undertaking the course. (b) The employee must pay the full cost of the course before a rebate will be made. (c) The employee must furnish evidence of having satisfactorily completed the course. 40:02 Subject to the foregoing conditions, the Corporation will rebate up to 100 percent of the cost of approved job related or developmental training, including tuition and assigned text books, other than full time studies, where no rebate of cost will be made.

In the case of I.C.S. and similar courses, the rebate shall be based on group price of the course. 40:03 Definitions 40:04 Payroll deduction assistance in payments of courses purchased in excess of $50.00 will be arranged on the recommendation of the employee's supervisor. There will be no payroll deduction for courses under $50.00. The employee may be granted one (1) day's education leave to prepare for and write the final examination pertaining to an approved course of study. 40:05 Any changes in the Corporation's Policy increasing the level of the benefit will be applicable to this Article.

Staff development courses are those which relate to and which are required for the incumbent's position and also for the next upward immediate position in an accepted line of progression as defined by the Corporation. Self development courses are those which upgrade skills or qualifications which are required for classifications under Schedule "A", other than those courses considered as Staff Development. In no case will the period during which any one course is taken exceed five (5) years. The recipient must be an employee of the Corporation at the time the refund is made. Payroll deduction assistance in payments of courses purchased in excess of $50.00 will be arranged on the recommendation of the employee's Supervisor. There will be no payroll deduction for courses under $50.00. The employee may be granted one (1) day education leave to prepare for and write the final examination pertaining to an approved course of study. If a mid-term examination pertaining to an approved course of study is required to be written during regular working hours, the employee may be given sufficient time off, with pay, to write the examination.
EMPLOYEE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE. The Company and the Union encourage and recognize the importance of continued educational development by providing appropriate partial or total reimbursement for successfully completed educational activities.   • Educational Assistance Section 1. Tuition reimbursement shall be provided to employees covered by this collective bargaining AGREEMENT under the same terms and conditions, policies and procedures as the rest of Hennepin County and reflecting a county–wide pool for funding. See Hennepin County Tuition Reimbursement Policy Frequently Asked Questions Section 2. Where courses are required and certified by the appointing authority as essential to current job performance, such appointing authority shall grant 100% reimbursement for tuition, required fees and required study materials. Section 3. At the request of an employee, an Individual Development Plan shall be established. Any employee making the request shall be provided with paid time to work with their Supervisor or Human Resources to develop a training plan for career development within Hennepin County. Human Resources will be a source of career information, and postings, in which the employee may have an interest. Time allotted for this activity and the training plan adopted shall be subject to mutual agreement of the Employee and Supervisor.

  • Legal Assistance The Board shall give full support including legal and other assistance for any assault upon the employee while properly acting in the discharge of his/her duties.

  • Employee Assistance Plan The District will provide an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) which allows each employee to refer themselves confidentially to the EAP provider. To protect confidentiality, any data which the provider transmits to the District shall be summary only. The Employee Assistance Plan will include individual and/or family counseling.

  • Employee Assistance Drug and alcohol counseling, rehabilitation, and employee assistance are available from or through the Employer’s employee assistance program provider(s) (E.A.P.).

  • Mutual Assistance The Parties will do all things reasonably necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms and provisions of this Agreement and to aid and assist each other in carrying out such terms and provisions.

  • EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE I understand that the College has not made and will not make any guarantees of employment or salary upon my graduation. The College will provide me with placement assistance, which will consist of identifying employment opportunities and advising me on appropriate means of attempting to realize these opportunities. I authorize HCI College’s representatives to contact potential employers for the purpose of advocating on my behalf and release my name and job application materials, including, but not limited to, my cover letter, resume, and transcript to prospective employers. I authorize HCI College and its third-party vendors to contact my employer to verify pertinent employment information for my graduate record.

  • Employee Assistance Program Neither the fact of an employee's participation in an employee assistance program, nor information generated by participation in the program, shall be used as a reason for discipline under this Article, except for information relating to an employee's failure to participate in an employee assistance program consistent with the terms to which the employee and the University have agreed.

  • Employee Assistance Programs Consistent with the University's Employee Assistance Program, employees participating in an employee assistance program who receive a notice of layoff may continue to participate in that program for a period of ninety (90) days following the layoff.

  • FALSELY ACCUSED EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE When a teacher has been falsely accused of child abuse or sexual misconduct, the Board will assist the teacher by: a. working with the teacher to develop a plan which facilitates a smooth return to the teaching profession; b. providing additional funding if required to the Employee Family Assistance Program to ensure availability of counselling assistance to the employee and the employee‘s family; c. providing, upon request by the employee, available factual information to parents and students; d. providing restitution of lost wages resulting from the suspension of the teacher.
