Environmental Safeguards. Reasonable environmental safeguards to protect systems storing Sensitive Information from smoke, heat, water, fire, humidity, or power surge damage.
Environmental Safeguards. 1. Except as otherwise agreed in writing by the Bank, the Recipient shall: (a) implement the Project in accordance with the ESMF; (b) wherever applicable, prepare, adopt, disclose, and implement, in form and substance satisfactory to the Association, an environmental and social mitigation plan, based on the ESMF, defining (i) the measures to be taken during the implementation of the relevant activities to eliminate or offset adverse environmental or social impacts, or to reduce them to acceptable levels, and (ii) the actions needed to implement these measures; and (c) not amend or waive, or permit to be waived, the ESMF or any environmental and social mitigation plan, or any provision thereof. 2. Without limitation upon its other reporting obligations under this Agreement and under Section 4.08 of the General Conditions, the Recipient shall regularly collect, compile and submit to the Association, as part of the progress reports referred to in Section II.A.1 of this Schedule, reports, in form and substance satisfactory to the Association, on the status of compliance with the ESMF, and any environmental and social management plan, giving details for the previous quarter of: (a) measures taken in furtherance of such ESMF and any environmental and social management plan; (b) conditions, if any, which interfere or threaten to interfere with the smooth implementation of such ESMF, or any environmental and social management plan; and (c) remedial measures taken or required to be taken to address such conditions and to ensure the continued efficient and effective implementation of such ESMF, or any environmental and social management plan.
Environmental Safeguards. 1. Without limitation to the provisions of Section 4.01 (b) of the General Conditions (referring to the obligation of the Recipient to ensure the carrying out in conformity with appropriate administrative, technical, financial, economic, environmental and social standards and practices), the Recipient shall: (a) prior to carrying out any works involving rehabilitation and reconstruction activities under Part A of the Project: (i) prepare, adopt and disclose, in form and substance satisfactory to the Association, the Environmental Management Framework, and (ii) thereafter, ensure that any works under Part A of the Project are carried out in accordance with the provisions of said Environmental Management Framework, and, except as the Association shall otherwise agree in writing, the Recipient shall not amend or waive, or permit to be amended or waived, any provision of any of the Environmental Management Framework; (b) ensure, for the purposes of facilitating the carrying out of the activities under Part A of the Project: (i) prior to commencement of any works under said Part A of the Project, the preparation of any environmental management plan or similar environmental safeguard instrument, if required by the Association; (ii) thereafter, except as otherwise agreed with the Association, the submission of the said environmental management plan or similar environmental safeguard instrument, if any, to the Association for review and approval; (iii) subsequently, the adoption and the local disclosure, in a manner acceptable to the Association, of the said environmental management plan, or similar environmental safeguard instrument if any; (iv) the implementation of said environmental management plan or similar environmental safeguard instrument, if any, in accordance with their terms and in a manner acceptable to the Association; and (v) include in the Project Reports to be furnished to the Association pursuant to the provisions of paragraph 1of Section II.A of this Schedule 2, a report on the carrying out of the measures required under such environmental management plan or similar environmental safeguard instrument, if any.
Environmental Safeguards. The Borrower shall ensure that (a) the Project is carried out in accordance with the project design, and construction and operations will comply with applicable national and local environmental laws and ADB's Environment Policy (2002); (b) the XXXX will be followed to guide the environmental assessment during implementation; (c) the relevant environmental mitigation measures specified in the Environmental Management Plans are incorporated in tender and bidding documents; (d) Works contractors' specifications include requirements to comply with the environmental mitigation measures contained in the Environmental Management Plans; (e) Works contractors are closely supervised to ensure proper implementation of mitigation and management measures; (f) the Project environmental performance will be monitored; and (g) prepare and submit annually to ADB a monitoring report describing the progress in implementing the Environmental Management Plans and measures adopted to address environmental issues, if any.
Environmental Safeguards. The Recipient shall ensure that the Project is carried out in accordance with the National Health Care Waste Management Plan (“NHCWMP”) and the Association’s policy requirements.
Environmental Safeguards. 15. The Borrower, DGPC and DHPC shall each ensure that the Project is implemented in accordance with all environmental safeguard measures. DGPC and DHPC shall adequately supervise the construction works carried out by private contractors to ensure compliance with these environmental safeguard measures. 16. The Borrower, DGPC and DHPC shall each ensure that the Project is undertaken, and all facilities and associated equipment are assessed, operated and maintained, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations of the Borrower, ADB’s Environment Policy (2002), and internal environmental polices and safeguard operational rules of DGPC and DHPC. 17. The Borrower, DGPC and DHPC shall each ensure that the outcomes of the EIA, SIEE and mitigation measures identified in the EMP and relevant government agencies are complied with during the design, construction and operation of the Project. The Borrower shall and shall cause DGPC and DHPC to monitor and audit the implementation of the EMP, and shall provide reports to ADB twice a year on the implementation of the EMP. 18. The Borrower, DGPC and DHPC shall each ensure that construction (a) does not take place within national parks, wild and planted forests and wildlife sanctuaries without prior environmental clearances obtained from all relevant government agencies; and (b) avoids monuments of cultural or historical importance. 19. The Borrower shall cause DGPC and DHPC to, and DGPC and DHPC shall, (a) monitor the air, soil and water quality baseline and the minimum ecological water flow for a minimum of two years; (b) update the EMP in consultation with, and to the satisfaction of, ADB if any of these baselines suggests that changes to the existing EMP be required; and
Environmental Safeguards. The Contractor shall take action of following points and note the stipulations as under as regards environmental safeguards as stipulated by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. 12.1 Appropriate measures shall be undertaken while undertaking digging activities to avoid degradation of water quality. 12.2 Borrow pits and other scars created during the road construction shall be properly leveled and treated. 12.3 Adequate provision for infrastructures facilities, i.e. water supply, fuel, sanitation, etc. shall be ensured for labourers during construction period in order to avoid damage to the environment & nuisance to the adjoining habitation. 12.4 No excavation from or dumping of waste materials into any water body / wetlands shall be done. 12.5 Borrow sites for earth, quarry sites for road construction and dump site shall be identified keeping in view: a) No excavation or dumping on private property is carried out without written consent of the owner. b) No excavation or dumping shall be allowed or wetlands, forests areas or other ecologically valuable or sensitive locations. c) The excavation work shall be done in consultation with soil conservation and watershed development agencies working in the area: d) Construction spoil/soil including bituminous scrap material and other hazardous material must not be allowed to contaminate water course and the dump sites for such materials must be identified well in advances before construction and lined properly so that they do not xxxxx into the ground water. e) Any approvals required for the same shall be arranged by the contractor.
Environmental Safeguards. (a) The Borrower shall ensure that all measures necessary for the carrying out of the Environmental Management Plan shall be taken in a timely manner and that all legal and administrative planning and environmental permits and authorizations necessary to carry out the Project are secured in a timely manner and with due diligence. (b) The Borrower shall ensure that the Project Implementing Entity takes all measures necessary and identified under the Environmental Management Plan at all times in a timely manner, ensuring that adequate information on the implementation of said measures is suitably included in the Project progress reports to be prepared pursuant to the provisions of Section II.A of this Schedule.
Environmental Safeguards. The Borrower and Bangladesh Bank shall cause each of the PFIs to ensure that the preparation, design, construction, implementation, operation and decommissioning of each Qualified Subproject comply with (a) all applicable laws and regulations of the Borrower relating to environment, health, and safety; (b) the Environmental Safeguards; (c) the ESMS; and (d) all measures and requirements set forth in the respective IEE and EMP, and any corrective or preventative actions set forth in a Safeguards Monitoring Report.
Environmental Safeguards. The Borrower shall ensure, and cause the Project Implementing Entity to ensure, that: (i) the Project is carried out in accordance with the ESMF, RPF and any Environmental Management Plan and Resettlement Action Plan; (ii) all measures necessary for the carrying out of said instruments shall be taken in a timely manner; (iii) all legal and administrative planning and environmental permits and authorizations necessary to carry out the Project are secured in a timely manner and with due diligence; and (iv) adequate information on the implementation of said measures is suitably included in the Project Reports.
