EQUIVALENCY CREDIT. 1. Unit members may request hours of credit toward salary schedule change for experiences that fall outside graduate level courses offered for credit. Such requests shall be directly related to the unit member’s current assignment and approved in advance by the Equivalency Credit Committee. Activities which may qualify are: adult education, Spanish language, technology courses applicable to the unit member’s assignment, workshops, generally recognized courses such as OMSI, ESD or clinics, or special work or travel experiences. 2. Nurses will receive credit for all approved nurse continuing education seat hours earned both prior to employment and during employment, as long as it is post license. Hours for initial placement will be limited to the equivalent of one column. Hours earned during the work day, when nurses are still on duty and on-call, will be counted. Application for these credits will be made by using the District developed form. Equivalency credit for these referenced hours will be on the basis of eight (8) hours of actual participation for one (1) graduate term hour for purposes of salary advancement. 3. The Equivalency Credit Committee may also approve other study or special training experiences. The procedure for receiving approval on requests will be set forth on the established District form and shall be subject to special criteria developed by the Equivalency Credit Committee. However, in emergencies the responsible administrator may approve requests on the basis of established criteria. 4. EQUIVALENCY CREDIT. 1. The equivalency credit program is used to facilitate horizontal movement on the salary schedule of the College. An equivalency credit may be earned in place of college credit. Equivalency credit is based on education and/or training which directly enhances the employee's ability to improve in his/her profession. 2. The same activity cannot be used for both college credit and equivalency credit. 3. In general, 25 clock hours will be equivalent to 1 equivalency credit (EC). For purposes of horizontal movement on the salary schedule, 1 equivalency credit is equal to 1 credit hour. 4. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are generally based on 10 clock hours equaling 1 CEU; therefore, 2.5 CEUs are required to obtain 1 equivalency credit (EC). 5. Only half of the credit hours required for horizontal movement may be equivalency credit. 6. To obtain equivalency credit: a. The activity must be appropriate to the discipline/job; b. The activity must be conducted on personal time; c. The activity or person is not being paid a salary or stipend by another entity, i.e. grant; d. The employee must make application to their supervisor for pre-approval; e. The employee must complete a report and self-assess the activity regarding the value of the experience to one's job; f. The documentation for final approval for movement on the salary schedule for the next academic year must be presented to supervisor by July 1; g. The final approval for equivalency credit will be determined by the supervisor by July 31; h. All documentation must be submitted to the Human Resources office by September 3. 7. The following activities may qualify for EC; time and effort must be included in the reporting documentation. Equivalency credit points identified are the maximum points allowed per activity. a. Professional reading - maximum of 1 EC 1. Teaching faculty: Complete a substantive report on how the material will influence instruction;

EQUIVALENCY CREDIT. Equivalency credit recognizes that formal courses in subject matter and methodology serve as only one method for teachers to improve professionally. In granting equivalency credits, the beneficial educational value to the school system of the teacher’s activities will be of singular importance.
EQUIVALENCY CREDIT. Equivalency credit up to five (5) credits of fifteen (15) credits will be given to all teachers who satisfactorily complete approved workshops (such as M.S.S.C., Mathematics Institute, N.J.E.A. or Bergen County Education Association). In order to receive such credit, the teacher must obtain the Superintendent's written approval for the program before he begins the workshop. The term "credit" as used herein, shall mean one full semester credit.
EQUIVALENCY CREDIT. Travel, work experience, workshops, conferences, conventions, and seminars for which equivalency credit is requested must be pre-approved by the Professional Growth Committee. A maximum of eight (8) hours of equivalency credit can be applied beyond Scale III.

  • Total Credit Award GO-Biz, upon approval by the Committee and conditioned upon the requirements set forth in this Agreement, will award Taxpayer a California Competes Tax Credit ("CCTC") in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) (“Credit”). Specifically, Taxpayer is receiving a CCTC against the “net tax” as defined in RTC section 17039, or the “tax” as defined in RTC section 23036, as applicable, pursuant to RTC section 17059.2 or 23689, as applicable.

  • Service Credit To the extent that any Transferred Employee’s acquired rights are not already protected by the Transfer Regulations or other applicable Law, Purchaser shall, and shall cause its Affiliates to, recognize the prior service of, or recognized with respect to, each Transferred Employee as if such service had been performed with Purchaser for all purposes, including eligibility, vesting, service-related level of benefits and benefit accrual (except for any benefit accruals for U.S. union and non-union hourly Transferred Employees under the defined benefit Rexam Pension Plan, provided that such service for benefit accruals purposes under the Rexam Pension Plan shall be recognized for purposes of early retirement subsidies in accordance with Schedule 5.1(h)) under the employee benefit plans and policies provided by Purchaser to such Transferred Employee following the Closing, to the same extent such service was recognized by Seller, Rexam or any of their respective Affiliates, as applicable, immediately prior to the Closing. Purchaser shall, or shall cause its Affiliates (including the Purchased Entities) to, (i) waive any preexisting condition limitations otherwise applicable to Transferred Employees and their eligible dependents under any plan of Purchaser or any Affiliate of Purchaser that provides health or life benefits in which the Transferred Employees may be eligible to participate following the Closing, other than any limitations that were in effect with respect to a Transferred Employee as of the Closing under the analogous Employee Benefit Plan, (ii) honor any deductible, co-payment and out-of-pocket maximums incurred by the Transferred Employees and their eligible dependents under the health plans in which they participated immediately prior to the Closing during the portion of the calendar year prior to the Closing in satisfying any deductibles, co-payments or out-of-pocket maximums under health plans of Purchaser or any of its Affiliates in which they are eligible to participate after the Closing in the same plan year in which such deductibles, co-payments or out-of-pocket maximums were incurred and (iii) waive any waiting period limitation or evidence of insurability requirement that would otherwise be applicable to a Transferred Employee and his or her eligible dependents on or after the Closing, in each case to the extent such Transferred Employee or eligible dependent had satisfied any similar limitation or requirement under an analogous Employee Benefit Plan prior to the Closing.
