Examination Committee. (1) An examination committee conducts the doctoral examination. The head of de- partment appoints this committee when the decision is made regarding the com- mencement of the doctoral examination process. In cases of doubt, the Doctoral Committee shall decide. (2) The examination committee consist of at least three professors, university lectur- ers or Privatdozenten (lecturers), or junior professors. In certain special cases, the following may also be appointed: professors of a Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaften (university of applied sciences) or a Xxxxx Hochschule Baden- Württemberg (Cooperative State University) or other persons with a qualification equal to a junior professor. The Doctoral Committee decides on the equivalency of qualification regarding these committee members. The majority of examination committee members must be members of the University of Konstanz. For a col- loquium on the doctoral thesis pursuant to § 12, the department-specific provi- sions can stipulate that an external member shall be appointed to the examina- tion committee. (3) The head of department appoints a committee chairperson and at least two the- sis referees, chosen from the committee members. The second referee should be named at as early a stage as possible. Furthermore, he or she shall name at least three examiners for the oral examination, who must represent at least two different scientific fields (cf. § 14 Sec. 1). If sufficient reason is shown for doing so, a committee member from outside the subject area can also be appointed as an oral examiner. The committee chairperson can simultaneously act as an oral examiner. If more than two referees are appointed, the majority of them must be University of Konstanz members. (4) The supervisor of the doctoral thesis should be appointed as a referee; he or she cannot act as committee chairperson. (5) Professors, university lecturers or a Privatdozent who have left the University of Konstanz remain equivalent to members of the University of Konstanz in this sense and for this purpose for a period of no more than two years; in exceptional cases, this period can be extended to a total of no more than three years, subject to the approval of the Doctoral Committee.

Examination Committee. The regular appointing bodies of the two univers1t1es will constitute a joint examination committee. The committee should consist of 5 members, with at least one member from the partner university where the oral defence of the dissertation will not take place. One committee member will be external, representing a university other than UN2 or UN1. One of the members of the committee will be named the chairperson and will be the responsible to conduct all the process.

  • Selection Committee A. Each building site will appoint a selection committee for the TLS. In developing recommendations, the committee will utilize measures of teacher effectiveness and professional growth, consider the needs of the school district and review the performance and professional development of the applicants. Teachers who are selected must meet all of the qualification contained in the TLS grant and contained in the law.

  • Negotiation Committee (A) The Union may designate certain employees to serve on its Negotiation Committee, and such employees will be granted administrative leave to attend negotiating sessions with the state. No employee shall be credited with more than the number of hours in the employee's regular workday for any day the employee is in negotiations. The agency shall not reimburse employees for travel, meals, lodging, or any expense incurred in connection with attendance at negotiating sessions. (B) No more than one employee shall be selected from the same work unit at any one time, nor shall the selection of an employee unduly hamper the operations of the work unit.

  • Consultative Committee (a) To assist in creating a stable and co-operative environment for the project, a consultative committee has been established which shall operate in accordance with its charter. It is not the objective of parties to this clause that the committee would over-ride the function and responsibilities of management or unions.

  • Union Committee ‌ The Union shall appoint and maintain a Committee comprising persons who are employees of the Employer, and/or the Senior Union Official, or her/his representative, which shall be known as the Union Committee. The Union at all times shall keep the Employer informed of the individual membership of the Committee.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Scheduling Committee (a) The parties agree to the formation of a Scheduling Committee to discuss and assist in resolving scheduling issues. (b) The committee will be comprised of equal representation from the Union and management. One Union Representative shall be the Bargaining Unit President and one Management Representative shall be the Chief Nursing Officer or designate. (c) Terms of Reference will be developed and mutually agreed to by the Committee.

  • Grievance Committee The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee composed of the Chief Xxxxxxx and not more than (as set out in Local Provisions Appendix) employees selected by the Union who have completed their probationary period. A general representative of the Union may be present at any meeting of the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to deal with complaints or grievances as set out in this Collective Agreement. The Union shall keep the Hospital notified in writing of the names of the members of the Grievance Committee appointed or selected under this Article as well as the effective date of their respective appointments. A Committee member shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending grievance meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including arbitration. The number of employees on the Grievance Committee shall be determined locally.

  • Joint Consultation Committee 8.01 On the request of either party, the parties must meet at least once every four (4) months, for the purpose of discussing issues relating to the workplace that affect the parties or any employee bound by the Agreement. 8.02 The purpose of the consultation committee is to promote the cooperative resolution of workplace issues, to xxxxxx the development of work related skills and to promote workplace productivity, and to identify opportunities for improved patient care. 8.03 Up to two (2) employees who are members of the joint consultation committee shall be granted leave without loss of pay or receive straight-time regular wages while attending meetings of the committee, up to a maximum of two (2) hours’ pay. 8.04 Pay for such meetings will be limited to two (2) hours and employees attending such meetings will not receive overtime wages.
