Family Illness/Emergency Leave. Each Employee may use his or her sick leave days for serious illness or accident/injury to a member of the immediate family or designated legal xxxx of the employee. The immediate family is interpreted to mean spouse, child, Son-in-Law, Daughter-in-Law, xxxxxx child, step child, parent, xxxxxx parent, step parent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, Grandparent or Grandchild. Such emergency leave shall be deducted from the Employee’s accumulated sick leave. The Superintendent may consider special relationships not specifically mentioned above, but falling within its intent.

Family Illness/Emergency Leave. Two days, per occurrence, of absence due to illness in the immediate family, or a critical family situation where no other arrangements are possible may be approved by the Superintendent. These days shall be deducted from the employee’s accumulated sick leave. Employees requesting emergency leave that qualifies for family or medical leave under state or federal statutes shall be eligible to exhaust any accumulated paid leave time before taking unpaid leave.
Family Illness/Emergency Leave. In accordance with Washington State law, the District shall grant sick leave to employees in the event of illness or emergency within the immediate family of the employee. For purposes of this provision, immediate family shall mean: spouse, mother, father, sisters, brothers, children, brother/sister/mother/father/daughter/son-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, significant other or his/her family, grandparents, grandchildren, step family, and xxxxxx family. Emergency shall be defined as a problem that has been suddenly precipitated or is unplanned; or where pre-planning could not relieve the necessity for the employee's absence.

  • Family Illness Leave An employee will be granted leave of absence for up to five (5) days per year without loss of pay or benefits for family illness. Additional family illness leave may be granted by the employer.

  • Qualifying Exigency Leave In the event that a member of the employee’s immediate household is called to covered active duty, such as a short notice deployment (i.e., deployment within seven or less days of notice), the employee will be granted time off to address necessary family matters in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

  • Emergency Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant leave of absence with or without pay to an employee in emergency or unusual circumstances. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied.
