Fire Inspectors. A. Work Schedules The present Monday through Friday work schedules for Fire Inspectors shall be retained unless prior notification is provided to the Council in accordance with Section 1 above.

Fire Inspectors. 1. It shall be the duty of the uniformed and civilian members of the Bureau of Fire Prevention to enforce all laws and Ordinances of the Fire Prevention Code so adopted or written by the City of Kankakee.
2. They shall have such other powers and perform such other duties as are set forth in other Sections of this Chapter and other provisions of the code of the City as may be conferred and imposed from time to time by law.
Fire Inspectors. Effective July 1, 2013, Fire Inspectors with the Fire Inspector II certification shall receive a premium of three percent (3%) of his/her base wage rate.
Fire Inspectors. A Fire Inspector shall receive a three percent (3%) pay increment in addition to that salary assigned to said position in Exhibit A hereto.
Fire Inspectors. (A) Effective October 1, 2014, all officers shall maintain the Ohio Certificate of Fire Safety Inspector. Any officers who do not have the certificate shall be required to obtain it no later than June 1, 2015 at the City’s expense.
(B) Newly promoted officers after October 1, 2014 who do not possess such certificate shall be required to obtain it within six (6) months of the date of promotion, at the City’s expense.
(C) All firefighters and officers who have an Ohio Certificate of Safety Inspector shall receive an annual pay supplement of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) paid on a bi-weekly basis, which shall be included in the overtime calculation.
(D) Under this provision, it is understood that firefighters and officers who have such Certificate may be assigned fire prevention duties.
Fire Inspectors. The Department recognizes the importance of maintaining a core of trained fire investigators. Therefore, Fire Inspectors will be encouraged to participate as members of the Alameda County Arson Task Force.
Fire Inspectors. The workweek for fire inspectors shall consist of seven (7) calendar days beginning at 12:00 midnight on Sunday and ending 12:00 midnight the following Sunday. Fire inspectors will be scheduled to work a 40 hour week. Daily shift times will be set by the City no earlier than 7:45 am and no later than 5:00 pm including a one hour meal period which shall not count as time worked (unless and then only to the extent of time spent in authorized calls to emergency duty). All time worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek will be compensated at a minimum of one and one‐half times the straight time rate in effect as set forth in the City’s salary schedule.
Fire Inspectors. During the 24 hour shift FIRE INSPECTORS will perform duties as assigned by management IAW the Firefighter Pay Act.
