Foot Protection. Steel-toe shoes or boots in good condition and appropriate to the work and hazards being performed shall be worn in work areas designated by CCI facility management.

In such cases, the Employer will provide a safety device or, if the Employer requires the employee to purchase approved safety shoes, the Employer will pay an allowance, not to exceed the established contract price approved by the State Purchasing Division, during January of each year.

Employees shall have the right to purchase such safety shoes utilizing the allowance provided herein. The issue of providing skid resistant or non-skid footwear for employees in food service work assignments shall be an appropriate subject for secondary negotiations, except in the Department of Community Health where employees who are required to wear non-skid footwear will be reimbursed up to $60 for the purchase price once each calendar year.

In lieu of an annual reimbursement of up to $100, an employee may elect to receive up to $200 for the actual cost of required safety shoes every two (2) years. Employees shall have the right to purchase such safety shoes utilizing the allowance provided herein.
Foot Protection. All employees are required to wear toe protection equipment. We have made arrangements to have a shoemobile visit the plant on a regular basis. The date and hours of their visits will be posted. To assist in the purchase of safety shoes a payroll deduction plan has been established. Experience has proven that by wearing safety shoes, many serious accidents have been and can be prevented.
Foot Protection. The Employer requires employees to purchase and wear approved safety shoes. The University will pay employees $90 per year to be used toward the purchase of such shoes. This payment will be extended to employees in January of each year, unless otherwise warranted by damages caused by hazards encountered on the job (i.e. chemicals, brine, weld spatter, etc.)
Foot Protection. Appropriate foot protection shall be required for employees who are exposed to potential foot injuries from electrical hazards; hot, corrosive, poisonous substances; falling objects; or crushing or penetrating actions, which may cause injuries, or who are required to work in abnormally wet locations. Each employing department that provides vouchers for the purchase of safety footwear is to evaluate the employee need and, if any of the above criteria is met, a department must either furnish a voucher for the purchase of the appropriate footwear or, if the department does not provide vouchers, it must provide additional non-pensionable compensation for reimbursement for purchasing department-required safety footwear. Payment for reimbursement of employee-purchased safety footwear shall not exceed one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00), including tax, per calendar year, and shall be paid during the month of February in 2016, 2017 & 2018 during the term of this MOU, unless a different annual scheduled is agreed to by both the Union and the CAO. Departments that provide vouchers are to make them available for distribution according to the same schedule as the above-purchase reimbursement payments, but no more than annually. Employees who purchase a pair of safety shoes over one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) may do so and pay the extra cost out of their own pocket.
Foot Protection. All personnel on the construction site shall wear leather hard-soled work boots. No one is permitted to wear sneakers (including ANSI approved), tennis shoes or athletic shoes of any type, sandals, high heels or thongs on the construction site. Suitable clothing for construction shall be worn on the construction site. Shirts with sleeves (at least t-shirt (4 inches) in length), full length pants and reflective safety vests shall be required. Shorts, sweat pants or tank-tops are not allowed.
Foot Protection. A request by the bargaining unit employee for replacement of safety footwear that may be defective and/or no longer effective shall be made to their immediate supervisor.
