Grievance Time. The Xxxxxxx, Chief Xxxxxxx, and employee-members of the Union Grievance Committee shall be paid by the Company for a reasonable period of time spent during their regularly scheduled working hours in settling grievances in their step in the grievance procedure and at their straight- time hourly rate of pay provided, however, that before leaving their jobs for the purpose of handling grievances, they must receive permission from their supervisor.
Grievance Time. Union Representatives may, during normal work hours, without loss of pay, handle grievances after having received prior approval from their immediate supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. To receive prior approval, the Union Representative must first describe the reason for leave on the daily log and must obtain approval by the supervisor in writing on the daily log. The maximum time allowed shall not exceed sixteen (16) hours per week total for all Union representatives, unless the Sheriff, at his sole discretion, agrees to extend that period of time. The release time allowed under this Section shall only be for the time necessary for such representatives to perform their required duties.
Grievance Time. It is the desire of both parties to this Agreement to resolve grievances in a manner that is just and equitable, and it is not the intention of either the Employer or the Union to evade settlement of disputes on a procedural technicality. However, notwithstanding the forgoing, it is clearly understood that time limits established herein are for the sake of procedural orderliness and are to be adhered to. Should either party fail to adhere to the time limits, the onus is on that party to show a justifiable reason for its failure to adhere to such limits.

Grievance Time. Employees requested by the Employer and the Union to come to the Employer's or Union's office to discuss a grievance shall be paid the cost of transportation that would not otherwise be incurred and a minimum of two (2) hours pay at the employee's hourly straight time rate.
Grievance Time. At each College the Board agrees to schedule and pay one (1) employee for the equivalent of one (1) additional four (4) hour course each module or semester for purposes of handling grievances. The Board also agrees similarly to schedule and pay the Union’s Chief Xxxxxxx and President for the same purposes.
