Employee shall be compensated for only one certification, irrespective of the number of certifications possessed. Such compensation shall begin in the pay period after the employee provides proof of the certification to Health Department Human Resources. Such compensation shall cease if the member’s certification lapses. Health Department. The Health Department has work sites throughout the County. Health Department Human Resources will work collaboratively with the Association to establish an effective and efficient method for communicating transfer opportunities. Employees who desire to be transferred within their respective job classes to a specific work location within their own department may submit a written request for transfer to the appropriate department representative. Such requests filed hereunder shall be retained for a period of one (l) year from date of filing and must be renewed if the employee still desires to be considered for reassignment beyond that date. Management shall respond to the request for transfer by notifying the employee of the status of their request within ninety (90) calendar days of its receipt. When Management contemplates filling vacancies and/or openings by transferring employees from one work site or location to a different location, Management will consider the following criteria: • The overall needs of the department • Requirements of job • Special qualifications, skills, abilities or training to perform job • The duration and/or permanence of the transfer • Length of service with the department If the above criteria are equally met, the seniority of the employee with the Health Department shall determine selection.
Health Department. Effective January 1, 2003, and in each remaining year of the agreement, employees in the title of Housing Inspector, Asst. Chief Housing Inspector, Senior Housing Inspector shall receive a $200 annual clothing maintenance allowance. The type of clothing shall be at the sole discretion of the County.
Health Department. Permanent full-‐ and part-‐time employees of the Health Department who work on a holiday shall be paid for actual hours worked. In addition, the employee shall be entitled to compensatory time off or pay for the observed holiday in accordance with Section 11 of this Agreement.
Health Department. On the first full pay period of each new calendar year, Health Department employees will receive a Nurses Development Certification stipend of $150 to be used toward the cost associated with taking classes in preparation of mandatory testing for renewal of professional nursing certificates. Employees in unpaid leave of absence status as of this date shall also be entitled to this stipend in the pay period following that in which the employee returns to active paid status. Taxes and CalPERS eligibility shall be determined by the Auditor-‐Controller.

b. State and Federal funded positions shall be converted, as described in Special Article 1-1 of this Agreement.
Health Department. The City shall establish the classification of Junior Sanitary Engineer at pay grade 37 in the Health Department, effective May 1, 1989.
Health Department. 1. The City agrees to convert all Local 495 Public Health Department temporary state and federal funded positions as of June 20, 1989 to regular civil service positions with appropriate civil service title and grade, subject to the following conditions:
a. Civil service approval and processing;
b. Continuation of the waiver by the Union of any impact bargaining over the positions where funding is eliminated or reduced for such positions by the state or federal government;
c. Reassignment by the Director of Public Health to any task within their job title at any time;
d. A civil service list and automatic termination of appointment as result of such list.
2. Subject to Appendix C (Salary Ordinance limits), the City will attempt at the time of conversion to place qualified employees at the same pay rate they were at immediately prior to the conversion.
