Animal Shelter. The TOWN and COUNTY agree that the COUNTY will maintain full financial responsibility for the operation of the Guilford County Animal Shelter. Such responsibility includes all current and future capital expenditures related to the operation of the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
Animal Shelter. The attached Letter of Understanding shall supersede certain Sections of the below Article, where applicable.
Animal Shelter. (a) The Humane Society will maintain and operate an animal shelter (“Shelter”) in a manner adequate for the confinement, remedial treatment, and, if necessary, disposal of stray dogs, cats, or other animals, which may be delivered to the Humane Society from all areas within the City of Ormond Beach, and the Humane Society will furnish, at its sole expense, all supervision, labor, animal food, tools, supplies and other things necessary for the satisfactory performance of the services herein agreed to be provided. Remedial care will be provided for injured animals during operating hours when there is a staff veterinarian available, at the Humane Society’s sole expense. The Shelter will be operated at 0000 XXXX Xxxx., Xxxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxx.
(b) The Humane Society will provide means to accept all stray dogs, cats, and other domesticated animals delivered to the Shelter by the City of Ormond Beach’s law enforcement personnel, Animal Control Officers, or other designated officers appointed by the City of Ormond Beach for this purpose. The Humane Society will accept wild animals and livestock only if it has the ability and facilities to impound and control these animals, and the decision to accept or reject such animals will be solely within the discretion of the Humane Society. The Humane Society will require all persons who drop off or report injured or stray animals to the Shelter during the Shelter’s normal operating hours to give their names and current home and post office addresses and identify the place where the animals involved were located or picked up.
(c) When the City of Ormond Beach delivers an animal to the Shelter for impoundment and such animal bears information indicating ownership of the animal, the Humane Society, within one (1) working day after receipt of such animal, will use its best efforts to notify the owner thereof and inform the owner of the procedure whereby the owner can recover the animal. Regardless of the foregoing, any animal suspected of being infected with rabies or which has bitten or otherwise exposed any person to rabies, shall not be released to its owner until after such animal has been impounded for a period of ten (10) days and the Volusia County Health Department, through its authorized representatives, has expressly approved, in writing, any such release. Animal Shelter. 17.1.1 The Contactor shall provide, operate and maintain the animal shelter, in accordance with the Animals for Research Act of Ontario, and to feed the animals therein kept, and to keep the shelter open and in operation on such days and at such hours as shall be agreed upon between the parties to insure that owners of impounded animals have a reasonable opportunity to reclaim such animals. The Contractor shall provide the Township with a letter from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), confirming the animal shelter facility has been inspected, registered and meets the requirements of the Act and Regulations.
17.1.1.1 The shelter facility shall be open to the public for a minimum of 2 hours per day and the hours of operation shall be posted on the Municipal Website.
17.1.1.2 The Contractor shall be responsible to provide the necessary staff, equipment and supplies to ensure that all animals impounded are kept clean, well-cared for and fed during the time of confinement.
17.1.2 The Contractor shall be equipped to impound cats and dogs for a minimum of five (5) days (5 days not including the day of pickup and discharge/euthanize). Animal control facilities should be capable of housing enough animals for periods beyond the required stay, in an effort to promote adoption;
17.1.3 The contractor shall have a contact number identified for the shelter;
17.1.4 The Contractor will be required to make every attempt to locate the owner up to and including posting photographs and descriptions on Facebook/Website.;
17.1.5 The contractor may destroy animals that have become property of the Township as may be required and to ensure compliance with all Provincial legislation. The Contractor shall either bring the animal to a qualified veterinarian for control or destruction, or to take such action of their own accord subject to having made arrangements and been authorized by a qualified veterinarian for the storage and use of drugs for euthanizing and/or controlling of animals;
17.1.6 The Contractor shall be responsible to dispose of all euthanized animals. Disposal shall be done by cremation, and under the rules and regulations of the Animals for Research Act. The Contractor will bear the cremation cost.
17.1.7 The Contactor shall ensure that no animal is released to its owner until proof is produced that the animal has a current tag from the Township, and where proof cannot be provided, the Contractor is responsible for selling a current ...
Animal Shelter. Any premises designated and operated by the City of Madison, and the Board for the purposes of impounding and caring for dogs and cats held under authority of this code section. KENNEL. Any person maintaining an establishment where dogs and cats of any species are kept for the purposes of breeding, buying, selling, showing or boarding of those animals or engaged in the training of those animals for guard or sentry purposes and which establishment is so constructed that animals cannot stray from it.

Animal Shelter. SECTION 1
Animal Shelter. The Parties acknowledge:
1. That the new Animal Care and Control Shelter has been constructed and Contractor Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA is and will be occupying it for the term of this Agreement in order to provide animal control services as set forth in Attachment 1.
2. The Parties have previously entered into a Memorandum of Agreement regarding Funding of Construction of an Animal Care Shelter, dated September 9, 2014 (“Memorandum”), attached and incorporated as Attachment 3. The Parties agree that the total cost of the shelter construction project is being updated as provided by Section 2 of the Memorandum, and the Parties agree that, when available, County will provide to Cities the final total cost of the Shelter construction which will be paid proportionately by each City as provided by the Memorandum. Further, the Parties acknowledge and agree that the proportionate share of each City will be amended as provided by section 3 of the Memorandum. The Parties acknowledge that continued animal control and shelter services to a City as provided herein is contingent on that City approving any amended cost and paying its proportionate share, as previously agreed in the Memorandum”.
Animal Shelter. The contractor shall provide an Animal Shelter that is constructed, maintained and operated in accordance with the Animals for Research Act, R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 23. The Shelter shall be open to the public a minimum of 30 hours per week Monday to Friday and a minimum of 5 hours on Saturday. • The shelter shall be in compliance with the Municipality’s Zoning By-law where it is located and any applicable Provincial Legislation.
