Illness in the Line of Duty. Classified personnel shall be entitled to illness in the line of duty leave at regular pay (reduced by the amount of Workers’ Compensation received in the form of temporary disability paid by reasons of such injury or illness) for a period of ten (10) days when absence from duties is because of illness from any contagious or infectious disease contracted in school work. An illness in the line of duty leave may be extended beyond ten (10) days by Board approval. The following requirements shall be observed:

Illness in the Line of Duty. Any permanent educational support professional shall be entitled to illness-in-line-of-duty leave with pay when he/she has to be absent from his/her duties because of personal injury received in the discharge of duty or because of illness from any contagious or infectious disease contracted in school work. Such leave shall be in addition to any other leave to which the employee may be entitled, and such leave shall not be cumulative. Each employee shall be entitled to at least ten (10) days of such leave, but additional leave day may be granted by the Board. Any employee absent on such leave shall reimburse the Board for any Worker's Compensation payments received for the period. Paid holidays, occurring during such leave, shall not be included in the computation of the number of days with respect to when such leave is applicable. A substantiating statement by a physician and a corroborating statement by the principal shall be required prior to approval of said leave, except that the corroborating statement of the principal may be subject to the grievance procedure.
Illness in the Line of Duty. Any member of the bargaining unit who must be absent from duty because of personal injury received in the discharge of duties or because of illness certified by a physician from contagious disease contracted in school work shall be entitled to illness in the line of duty leave. Such leave shall be authorized for a period not to exceed ten (10) days and shall be applicable only to the year during which the accident or illness occurred. Any extension beyond this amount shall require action of the Board.

Illness in the Line of Duty. Any employee shall be entitled to illness-in-line-of duty leave with full pay when the employee has to be absent from his/her duties because of a personal injury received in the discharge of duty or because of illness from any contagious or infectious disease contracted in school work. A physician must certify that the injury or contagious or infectious disease was sustained by the employee through normal discharge of his/her duties. Use of such leave shall result in no reduction of the employee's accumulated sick leave except as provided in S231.41, Florida Statutes.
