Contagious Disease. An employee who contracts ringworm or pink eye as a result of performing his/her employment duties and is absent from work as a result shall suffer no loss of compensation, nor loss of sick leave days up to the maximum of three (3) days per occurrence. These absences must be supported by a medical statement.

Contagious Disease. This Article shall operate in conjunction with Article 20, Section l(C), "Safety and Health", of this Agreement. It shall provide the operational framework and clarity to the Department's handling of instances at Institutions and/or facilities where the outbreak of a contagious disease has occurred. Due to privacy laws testing for the AIDS virus shall not be part of this Agreement. It shall be agreed by the parties to the following: 1. Where the Department of Correction, in conjunction with the Department of Public Health, has determined that a contagious disease outbreak has occurred at a Department Institution or facility through the existence of credible medical evidence, it shall immediately notify the Union Executive Board of such determination, and the Department shall implement an education and testing program at such site. All employees and inmates at the site must be tested for the contagious disease. 2. Such testing will be done by medical personnel from the Department of Correction and with medical personnel from the Department of Public Health except as provided in #4 below. 3. If the contagion is tuberculosis, the actual tuberculosis testing will be conducted by the medical personnel from the Department of Public Health with assistance provided from medical personnel from the Department of Correction. Nothing herein shall prevent an employee from insisting that he/she be tested by personnel from DPH. Each employee at each facility shall be tested in an administrative area (e.g. conference room) or other areas where inmates are not present. Such testing will be done during the employee's shift or tour of duty. 4. Employees may decline to be tested at their work sites; however, any such employee so declining must be tested by utilizing one of the following two alternatives: a. the employee, on his/her own time, may be tested by his/her own physician. If this alternative is chosen the Department will give the employee a letter to bring to his/her physician and the physician will report the results to the Department of Public Health on a form provided to him/her subject to the confidentiality requirements set forth below; or b. the employee may, on his/her own time, be tested at any of the Department of Public Health clinics located within the Commonwealth. 5. All test results, regardless of where the employee opts to be tested, shall remain strictly confidential and maintained only for database purposes by the Director of Health Services. No test...
Contagious Disease. Section 1. The City shall provide for and maintain an Exposure Control Plan which meets the letter and intent of the OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens Standard, codified as 29 CFR 1910.1330, for the purpose of reducing occupational exposure to Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and other blood borne pathogens that employees may encounter during their work activities. Section 2. The City recognizes that employees may be called upon to respond to incidents involving an imminent threat of injury or death to themselves or others where the carrying out of any action will risk exposure to an obvious blood borne pathogen hazard. The City shall not hold liable any employee who minimizes exposure by first donning all required equipment and clothing, in a reasonable amount of time, prior to engaging the potential blood borne pathogen hazard. The City shall provide to the employee all legal remedies and costs where litigation may commence as a result of the employee’s proper and recommended actions in controlling exposure. The City shall provide all the protections and defenses provided to City employees under 24 VSA 901 (a) & (b). Section 3. The City will provide, without cost or time lost to the employee, a Tuberculosis screening, and immunizations against the following: Tetanus Rabies Hepatitis-B HIV, when available

Contagious Disease. An APA/Clerk absent from work because of mumps, scarlet fever, measles, pink eye, chicken pox, head lice, scabies or ringworm shall be allowed five (5) days absence with pay and benefits without reduction of leave allowances when contact with said contagious diseases can be reasonably attributable to the employee’s work in the District.
Contagious Disease. Any student having an infectious disease (measles, hepatitis, mononucleosis, etc.) must be certified as non-contagious by the UIC Health Service to be able to live in the residence halls. Since all students living in the residence halls share bathroom and dining facilities with other residents, a person cannot be contagious to other community members and remain in the halls. The student is responsible for finding other living arrangements until he/she is no longer contagious. Written proof from a physician is required and must be submitted to the Associate Director of Housing for Residence Life in the Central Housing Office in order to return to the halls. Gambling is not permitted in the residence halls. Behavior unbecoming of a UIC student includes, but is not limited to, uncivilized language such as excessive swearing (particularly when directed toward another person or office); conduct which is disorderly, lewd, or indecent; breach of peace; or otherwise reflects poorly upon the UIC community, is prohibited. Throwing or dropping any object or liquid out of a window, off a ledge, or from a roof area is strictly prohibited. Tampering with or removing screens is prohibited. A student may not violate confidentiality or other board policies or procedures as determined by the Campus Housing staff and the group while serving as a member of the Residence Hall Conduct Board.
Contagious Disease. If a child in the Teacher Aide’s classroom had a contagious disease, as defined below, and the child came to school during the incubative (contagious) phase of the disease and the Teacher Aide contracts the disease during the normal incubation period, upon submission of documentation of the absence satisfactory to the District, the Teacher Aide will be paid for the absence resulting therefrom without it being charged to personal illness days. For purposes of this subsection only, “Contagious disease" includes chicken pox, conjunctivitis, Fifths disease, measles, mumps, pertussis, rubella and scarlet fever.
