Initial Placement on Salary Schedules. 14.2.1 Credit for service outside the District shall be allowed on the salary schedule at the rate of one (1) increment (step) for one (1) year of service in a pediatric occupational therapy or pediatric physical therapy setting. The District reserves the right to offer additional years of service steps. All previous experience shall be verified by official statements by prior employers before experience credit shall be allowed. 14.2.2 Qualified unit members shall, effective each July, advance one horizontal step on the salary schedule for each year of service, except those whose placement is at the maximum step or qualify under 14.2.3 below. 14.2.3 Qualified unit members whose annual experience credit date begins mid-year, shall advance one horizontal step on the salary schedule for each year of service at the midpoint of their work year, except those whose placement is at the maximum step for their group or whose contract is limited by special conditions usually identified with specially funded program employment. 14.2.4 Regular full-time unit employees who, in any one semester, are in paid status for at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the work days designated for the affected position, shall be deemed to have earned a semester of experience credit. 14.2.5 A regular part-time unit member serving at least one-half (1/2) of a full-time assignment may, upon serving at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the instructional days in one school year, earn one semester of experience credit.

Initial Placement on Salary Schedules. 1. Credit for service outside the District shall be allowed on the salary schedule at the rate of one (1) increment (step) for one year of comparable service up to a maximum of seven (7) increments (steps). A regular (Preliminary or Professional Clear) credential is required for progress beyond Step 3 on the salary schedule. 2. No credit for experience will be allowed for parts of a year less than seventy-five percent (75%) of the total days taught; however, when a fractional part of a year taught outside the District is added to the time served in the District in the same year equal to at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the total days taught, a year's service shall be granted for salary placement. 3. All course work for initial placement must be verified by official transcripts. Obtaining official transcripts is the unit members responsibility. All transcript verifications must be received within thirty (30) days, except when the time limit is extended by the District, of the signing of the unit members' initial contract. Failure to do so will result in the District's paying the minimum salary verified until such documents are received in the Human Resources Department. 4. Earned degrees received and upper division or graduate units of study earned after the bachelor's degree in an accredited institution of higher learning shall be allowed for initial placement and subsequent horizontal movement on the salary schedule. The accreditation status of a college or university at the time of the unit members' initial employment shall prevail. Credit for units earned, other than subject matter units, in a concurrent degree and credential program will be awarded for placement on the salary schedule even though the units are not earned after the issuance of the Bachelor’s Degree. 5. Permanent unit members who resign from the District and are subsequently reemployed within thirty-nine (39) months shall be placed on the step of the salary schedule to which they were entitled at the time of their resignations or at the hiring-in rate of a new employee.
Initial Placement on Salary Schedules. 27.2.1 K-12 teaching (while holding a valid teaching credential authorizing service in K-12) experience outside of the District including accredited private schools shall be based upon the following: 27.2.1.1 Experience credit shall be year for year (exclusive of day-to-day substitute service) up to a maximum of five (5) years. 27.2.1.2 For positions designated by the District as “hard to fill”, effective in school year 2012-2013, experience credit shall be year for year up to a maximum of seven (7) years. 27.2.1.3 The previous employer must provide written verification of prior experience. 27.2.1.4 Service of seventy-five percent (75%) of the regular school year shall constitute a full year of service credit in a position requiring certification. 27.2.1.5 All course work for initial placement shall be verified by official transcript. 27.2.1.6 Course work beyond the bachelor’s degree which was not a part of a credential or degree program which the District determines does not have relevance to the initial assignment will not be given credit. Course work that does not meet these criteria may be counted by the District if it is part of a completed credential or degree program in a subject commonly taught at the school site. Other course work may be counted at a later time if the unit member’s assignment is changed and the course work is relevant to the new assignment. 27.2.1.7 All transcripts shall be received as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days (a day is a day which the District Office is open) from the date of signing the initial contract. The District may adjust and correct salary placement if the unit member does not provide timely verification of the units and experience relied on for initial placement. 27.2.2 Unit members who resign from the District and are rehired in contract status within 39 months shall be restored to the same salary placement they held at the time of resignation. 27.2.3 Prior experience in the private sector or in an academic setting shall be used to determine initial placement for counselors.

  • Placement on Salary Schedule The following rules shall be applicable in determining placement of a teacher on the appropriate salary schedule.

  • Salary Schedule Placement College Training A. Unit members qualifying for the “Entry Level Salary” shall remain at this level until they met the minimum requirements for placement on any other salary column (1-4). Upon verification of documentation qualifying unit members for placement upon any other salary column (1-4), the unit member shall then be placed upon the appropriate step on that salary column in accordance with his/her length of service. B. School Nurses who have a Bachelor’s degree, qualify for crediting of previous experience, but have not completed 30 semester units after the Bachelor’s degree or the appropriate clear credential, shall be exempt from placement at “Entry Level Salary”; shall instead, be placed on Column 1; and shall advance on the salary schedule in accordance with the Agreement for unit members. C. Unit members placed on “COLUMN 1” of the Salary Schedules by the agreement (Appendix C1) between the Association and the District shall advance on the schedule in accordance with that agreement (Appendix C1). D. All college or university credits which will qualify a unit member for a new salary placement must be verified by official college or university transcripts in order to justify a contract revision. Such college or university credits must be obtained from an institution of higher learning which is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or other recognized accreditation organization. Salary revision shall be effective following District approval (as stipulated by this Article) of the necessary credits for column advancement. E. The unit requirement for each salary column is stated in semester hours of credit; quarter hour credits can be converted into semester hours by multiplying 2/3. F. For salary schedule purposes, only semester units earned after the completion of the Bachelor’s Degree shall be considered. G. Credit will not be granted for any course for which less than a "C" grade is earned. H. Unit members shall not enroll in courses which conflict with the work day. I. A major teaching field is considered to be 36 semester hours (12 of which must be upper division or graduate), a minor teaching field is considered to be 20 semester hours (8 of which must be upper division or graduate). J. Repeat credit may be granted for a course taken at an accredited institution in which the content field has recently undergone substantial change or, in the case of a course originally taken many years ago, an updating of study is desirable. K. Course work, for salary credit must be upper division, graduate level, or transferable* lower division courses, taken at an accredited college or university, and must conform to one or more of the following guidelines: 1. Units may be taken in a subject directly related to the teaching/work assignment. 2. Units may be taken in a subject directly related to a person’s major or minor. For unit members in a self-contained classroom program; a subject commonly taught in the elementary school. For unit members in a departmentalized classroom program; courses in an additional major or minor. 3. Units may be taken in a subject directly related to an advanced degree in professional education or in a subject related to the teaching/work assignment. 4. Units may be taken in a subject directly related to a credential or certificate authorized by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. 5. Units may be taken in a Board authorized, District sponsored, professional activity. Credit equivalent will be adopted at the time of such Board action. *A transferable lower division course is a lower division course taken at an accredited college or university that is acceptable for baccalaureate graduation credit at another accredited college or university. L. The submission of transcripts for columnar advancement of the salary schedule is limited to two (2) submission dates per school year. Additional units may be banked for future salary schedule advancement. M. Transcripts for completed units must be submitted to the Human Resources Division no later than the first of September or February for salary adjustment. Adjustment for qualifying units submitted no later than the first of September will be retroactively made effective on the first work day of the school year. Adjustment for qualifying units submitted no later than the first of February will be retroactively made effective on the first work day of the calendar year.

  • Placement on the Salary Schedule Members of the bargaining unit shall be placed on the salary schedule at the step appropriate for training and creditable years of experience.

  • Increment Date for Salary Grid Placement Upon achieving one (1) year of experience, an increment shall be awarded on the first of the month following the month in which the experience accumulation is earned.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an Employee's vacation period, she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee.

  • Current Report on Form 8-K The Company shall, on the date hereof, retain its independent registered public accounting firm to audit the balance sheet of the Company as of the Closing Date (the “Audited Balance Sheet”) reflecting the receipt by the Company of the proceeds of the Offering on the Closing Date. As soon as the Audited Balance Sheet becomes available, the Company shall promptly, but not later than four business days after the Closing Date, file a Current Report on Form 8-K with the Commission, which Current Report shall contain the Company’s Audited Balance Sheet. Additionally, upon the Company’s receipt of the proceeds from the exercise of all or any portion of the option provided for in Section 2(b) hereof, the Company shall promptly, but not later than four business days after the receipt of such proceeds, file a Current Report on Form 8-K with the Commission, which report shall disclose the Company’s sale of the Option Units and its receipt of the proceeds therefrom, unless the receipt of such proceeds are reflected in the Current Report on Form 8-K referenced in the immediately prior sentence.
