Instructional Activities. The District will pay each employee for time spent on preparation for teaching or leading any instructional situation. Such situations would include, but not limited to, summer school, staff development leadership roles, Afters programs, or state assessment preparation. The rate of pay will be per diem, per hour of teaching time. Additional time for preparation can be negotiated with the building principal.
Instructional Activities. For the purposes of determining faculty workloads, each instructional activity will be assigned to one of the following five categories. A committee comprised of representatives of the colleges and/or District Services, the Academic Senates of each college, and the Faculty Association will meet annually to assign courses to the appropriate category.

The Administrators of District and Agency (or their designees) will meet at mutually agreed upon intervals to plan curriculum and review class hours to insure performance objectives are met, and to schedule and budget for instructional activities. The joint consent of District and Agency shall be required before any instructional activity is approved. Instructional activity will include supervision and evaluation of students and student withdrawal prior to completion of a course.
