Laboratory Technician. An employee on being hired as a technician in one of the laboratories will be given the classified rate of a 2nd Class Technician. On showing satisfactory performance, an additional minimum increase of 45 cents per hour will be given after each six‑month period, and the classified rate of 1st Class Technician after eighteen (18) months of em‑ ployment. To achieve the classification of Senior Technician the employee must be performing job functions above that of the 1st Class technician and of a developmental na‑ ture. This classification will be limited to one employee in each technical area. A Technical Area is each distinct laboratory where there are bargaining unit employees performing work.

Laboratory Technician. An employee who is competent in the full range of laboratory and field tests. A multi skilled spray employee who is employed as a sprayer driver and who is competent in the full range of spraying products and services (including all paperwork) and who therefore has the skills/competency to independently carry out any spraying operations. - Undertake all duties of a Level 3B Individual Network Inspector - Undertaking Level 1 or equivalent inspection tasks on a range of structural assets (e.g. bridges, gantries, etc.). - Competent in training and guiding other employees on how to identify and log hazards/defects and undertake inspections - Advanced knowledge of asset management system and contract requirements of inspections: ▪ Competent in setting up inspection programs and delivering to contract requirements ▪ Ability to run and review reports from asset management system ▪ Coordinate and lead delivery of works with crews and subcontractors - Liaise with customers and clients Crew Leader An employee appointed to the company to lead a crew or team. In leading the team, the leader must exhibit skills in communication, motivation, organisation and continuous improvement. The company will support employees to develop and improve these skills.

I I In the event of any lay off, the students shall be laid off prior to any lay off of permanent, regular full-time em- ployees. The employee with the least seniority in the affected seniority group shall be laid off first, but may exercise dis- placement privileges against any employee in the plant with less seniority working in a job classification which they have previously performed, or, in the event no such job is avail- able, then against any less senior employee in the plant employed in a job classification they have the ability to perform. The Company shall provide at least (5) days written notice of lay off and the Chief Xxxxxxx shall be given a copy of lay off notices. For purposes of reassignment due to layoff to a job classification for which the classification rate is lower than that of the current job classification, the affected employee shall suffer no reduction in classification rate for a period of working days. After working days the affected employee shall be paid the lower classification rate, in ac- cordance with years of seniority, to a maximum of the top classification rate for the job classification to which they have been reassigned. Employees shall maintain their seniority throughout the lay off process except as defined in Articles and In the event of a perinanent lay off the Company shall give as much written notice to the affected employees as practical and shall give a copy to the Union. When there is a permanent position in the bargain- ing that is subject to job posting, notice of the vacancy shall be posted for six (6) consecutive work days during which employees apply. In such cases, the Company shall be guided in its decision by the following factors:
a) seniority;

Laboratory Technician. Technology Company shall provide to the Medical Practice a full time laboratory technician (the "Lab Technician") who will be trained in and responsible for maintaining and operating the Lab Equipment and Laboratory Facility, for the performance of the Tissue Processing required in the Technology Company Protocol. The Laboratory Technician shall at all times be an employee of Technology Company.
