Long-Term Vacation Planning i) For the purpose of enabling long-term vacation planning the vacation year has been divided into four (4) periods. The table below identifies these periods and the deadline for staff to submit their requests for vacation, and for the Hospital to approve or deny the vacation as requested. June 1st – September 30th March 1st March 31st October 1st – January 31st (Excl. Dec 15 to January 15th) July 1st July 31st December 15th – January 15th October 6th October 31st February 1st – May 31st November 1st December 5th ii) Vacation requests submitted by the above deadlines will be granted on the basis of seniority, notwithstanding requests for one or more weeks off will receive priority over lesser periods (excluding the period from December 15th to January 15th). A week is defined as a period of seven (7) consecutive days as identified by the nurse in his or her vacation request. Notification of the approval or denial of vacation requests shall be provided in writing in accordance with the deadlines set out in (i) above. Electronic forms will be returned in an electronic format. iii) Nurses will be contacted by the CSO by Hospital email in advance of the approval/denied deadline to be offered all available tours by seniority. Nurses will respond in writing within five (5) calendar days with a confirmation of tours that they are available to work. The CSO will confirm any assigned tours by seniority within the approval/denial deadline as set out in G.3 (b) i). iv) During the months of July and August the nurse may be approved a maximum of two weeks of vacation, which may be taken together or separately. v) Long-Term Vacation requests received past the identified submission deadline in G.3 (b) i) will not be considered for that period until after the approval/denial deadline, giving priority to those requests submitted on-time.

Long-Term Vacation Planning. For the purpose of enabling long-term vacation planning, the vacation year will be divided into three (3) periods. Vacation Period Vacation Planner Release Submission Deadline Response Date February 1 to May 31 October 1 November 1 December 1 June 1 to September 30 February 1 March 1 April 1 October 1 to January 31 June 1 July 1 August 1 An employee shall submit their written request electronically email/HRIS) for the vacation period, on or before the “submission deadline”. The manager (or designate) will provide a response to the request on the “response date”. Vacation requests submitted by the submission deadlines will be granted on the basis of seniority. The Employer will use up-to-date seniority lists in determining long-term vacation approvals/denials. In keeping with the current submission deadlines for vacation requests, the Employer will use seniority on the date of vacation submission deadlines as follows: For the vacation period between February 1 – May 31 the Employer will use a seniority list which will be updated on November 1st of the year of the request. For the vacation period between June 1 – September 30 the Employer will use a seniority list which will be updated on March 1st of the year of the request. For the vacation period between October 1 to January 31 the Employer will use a seniority list which will be updated on July 1st of the year of the request.
