Lounge and/or Eating Areas. Where current practice provides, the Employer shall continue to provide adequate lounge and/or eating areas, separated from clients and employees' normal areas of work. The Employer recognizes the desirability of providing an adequate lounge and/or eating area conveniently located and accessible to all employees. In those work locations that do not presently provide such accommodations, the Employer will make a reasonable attempt to provide space for this purpose. Space provided shall be separated from patients/residents and employees' normal work areas and accommodate all those employees who are scheduled to utilize the same at any given time. The Employer shall, in all lounge and/or eating areas, provide heat, lights, furniture, and where practical an electrical outlet.

Where current practice so provides and where operational needs permit, the Employer will continue to provide adequate employee lounge and/or eating areas in non-public locations separated from employees’ normal areas of work. Such lounge and/or eating areas shall include employer provided furniture, such as but not limited to tables and chairs and, where feasible, and within budgetary and operational limitations, electrical outlets. When leasing new office space and/or renewing existing leases, the feasibility of providing lounge or eating areas will be a consideration. The issue of providing employees with such lounge and/or eating areas where current practice does not so provide will, upon request, be a subject of secondary level negotiations, provided that no obligation shall exist for the employer to negotiate such issue for work sites where space is not available. The Employer reserves the right to change lounge and/or eating areas due to operational requirements. The proposed removal or relocation of lounge and/or eating areas due to operational requirements shall be an appropriate subject for labor- management meetings provided for in Article 10 of this Agreement.

The Department agrees to make every reasonable effort to maintain a lounge and/or eating area in those buildings where they now exist and to consider providing for those where there are none. The parties agree that concerns over lounges and/or eating areas shall be proper subject for Labor/ Management Committee meetings. Special needs will be taken into consideration, on a case-by-case basis, for handicapped employees.

Lounge and/or Eating Areas. The Employer agrees to work with the Union in an attempt to provide employee lounge and/or eating areas in non-public places at all work locations as rapidly as possible. The Employer and the Union will seek solutions to the lounge and/or eating area problems in work locations through the monthly Labor/Management Committee meetings. Where no space can currently be made available, the Employer will discuss alternatives and request space for mutually agreed upon lounge and/or eating areas, if funds are available, when leases are up for renewal.
Lounge and/or Eating Areas. 13 The Department agrees to maintain separate lounge and/or eating areas where current practice so 14 provides in accordance with all provisions of Article 35, Section F. 15 When a facility is being relocated, and/or established, the Department will discuss providing lounge 16 and/or eating areas with the MSEA Spokesperson and/or designee.
