Notary Pay. 1. Employees assigned by the Department Head to perform notary duties as part of their regular duties shall receive additional compensation. Each unit employee who meets the eligibility requirements, and is designated by the applicable Department Head and Human Resources Department to receive notary pay, shall be compensated at the rate of $20 per pay period. 2. Unit employees receiving notary pay shall also maintain their commission from the California Secretary of State. The City shall also pay for the cost of necessary stamps, journals, supplies, and fees associated with State and/or County requirements, as applicable.

Notary Pay. ‌ Employees authorized by their department head to act as a notary for official City business shall receive an additional seventy-five ($75) dollars per month pay. This provision will become effective on the payroll period with a beginning date on or after July 1, 2013.
Notary Pay. Effective January 1, 2014, one (1) employee in the unit will receive twenty-five dollars ($25) per month for providing notary services for District-related needs. Notary Pay. Employees in any classification who are authorized by the City to obtain and maintain a Notary Public Commission from the California Secretary of State in order to use that certification in furtherance of the City’s business shall receive Special Assignment Pay of five percent. The City will also pay such designated employees for the cost of obtaining and maintaining their Notary Commission, and will provide City-paid release time for these designated employees to complete the required courses or training associated with obtaining and maintaining the Notary Public Commission.
Notary Pay. Employees who are called upon to notarize a document shall receive pay in the amount of $15.00 for each notarized signature. To receive Notary Pay, the employee must possess a valid notary public certification from the State of California. The District will cover the cost of notary certifications. Notary Pay will not be included when calculating the employee’s regular rate of pay for purposes of overtime and will not be reported as compensation for purposes of pension benefits. Employees in positions that are routinely relied upon for ongoing notary services have been eligible to receive Notary 2 Pay. Notary Pay 2 shall be equal to 2.5% of the employee’s base rate of pay. Any Notary 2 Pay earned by an employee will be included when calculating the employee’s regular rate of pay for purposes of overtime. In addition, to the extent permitted by XxxXXXX, any Notary 2 Pay earned by an employee will be reported as compensation for purposes of pension benefits. Effective the pay period including January 1, 2025, Notary 2 Pay shall no longer exist and no employee shall be eligible for Notary 2 Pay effective beginning the pay period including January 1, 2025.
