Pay During Temporary Transfers. When an employee temporarily relieves in or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position she shall receive the rate for the job. When an employee is temporarily assigned to a lower paying position than her own, her rate shall not be reduced.
Pay During Temporary Transfers. If an employee substitutes on any job during the absence of another employee or performs duties of a higher classification, the employee shall receive the rate for the job or their regular rate, whichever is the greater.
Pay During Temporary Transfers. The Employer agrees that when any employee is requested or directed to perform, temporarily, work of a higher rated classification, then the employee so affected shall be paid the higher rate of pay, provided that the said employee works one (1) or more hours at the higher rated position; and if the employee works a period of one half (1/2) or more of their regular shift pursuant to Article 12 at the higher rated position, then the employee shall be paid the full shift at the higher rate of pay. When an employee is directed by the Employer to temporarily perform work of a nature for which a lower classification is provided, the employee shall continue to be paid the established rate for the higher classification.

When an employee, with the prior approval of her supervisor, temporarily substitutes in or performs the principal duties of a higher paying hourly position, the employee shall receive the rate for the higher paying job immediately upon assuming that new position. It is understood that temporary transfers under this Article shall be for a minimum of one (1) day. When an employee is assigned to a position paying a lower rate, such employee shall incur no reduction in pay.

When an employee temporarily substitutes in or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position for which a salary range has been established, for a minimum period of five (5) working days, the employee shall receive the lowest rate in the salary range of the position being performed which provides an increase of at least 3.0% higher than the previous rate. When an employee is assigned to a position paying a lower rate, the employee's rate shall not be reduced until after sixty (60) consecutive working days. For assignments of less than five (5) consecutive working days, an employee shall be paid his/her regular rate of pay.

Employees temporarily assigned to positions outside the scope of this Collective Agreement shall be paid, from the first day in the temporary assigned position, ten percent (10%) above the assigned employee's regular classification rate. In each assignment the employee shall be notified in writing in advance of the temporary assignment.

It is hereby agreed and understood by both parties that employees shall temporarily do work outside their classifications when necessary at the discretion of the Company and will be for such time under the direction of the Supervisor of the Department in which they temporarily work. When an employee in these Departments temporarily substitutes in, or performs the principal duties of a higher paying classification for the lesser of four (4) hours or more or a half day or more, he/she shall receive the rate for the job. When an employee is assigned by the Company to a position paying a lower rate, his/her rate shall not be reduced until after sixty (60) consecutive working days. Where the transfer of an employee is made because of lack of work in his/her present classification or because the employee is temporarily unable to do his/her work, his/her rate shall be reduced after forty (40) hours.
Pay During Temporary Transfers. A temporary transfer will be granted when an employee is temporarily placed in a position other than their regular position. All hours worked in the alternate position will be paid at the base rate of the alternate position. Where an employee is transferred to positions such as Circulation Services Supervisor, Community Branch Supervisor, Collections Services Supervisor or ReadAbility Services Supervisor, the following shall apply: Temporary transfer will only be granted when the employee works seven (7) hours in the position in one day, except for on Sunday when the shift may be for fewer than seven (7) hours.
Pay During Temporary Transfers. The acting pay for temporary assignments shall be at the applicable rate on the salary scale for the position in which the employee is acting. When an employee is temporarily assigned to a lower paying position than her own, her rate shall not be reduced.
Pay During Temporary Transfers. When an Outside employee performs the principal duties of a higher paying position at an hourly rate of pay, the employee shall immediately receive the rate for the job. When an Inside employee temporarily performs the principal duties of a higher paying position for which a salary range has been established, the employee shall receive the first rate in that salary range which exceeds the salary received in the employee's regular position for each full working day that the employee performs the principal duties of the higher paying position. When an employee is assigned to a position paying a lower rate, such employee shall incur no reduction in pay. It is understood that all temporary transfers must have the authorization of the Employer.
