Police Clerk. The general duties of this classification shall include, but not be limited to, performing a variety of moderately complex duties and assignments and/or clerical work that has some specialization. Typically, these can include word processing, preparing draft-typed material without guidance, and providing input into the development of procedures. Other duties may include providing guidance for part- time staff, input on staff resourcing matters to meet operational needs (i.e. involvement in the hiring process), and cash handling and receipting of monies following normal procedures. Incumbents at this level are expected to know and respond correctly to emergency inquiries, and to exercise sound judgement when assessing the nature of emergency situations. Requirements include High School graduation, computer skills with word processing at a specified intermediate level of current programs, critical thinking ability so as to respond appropriately in emergency situations, a customer service orientation, and a minimum of four (4) years related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Police Clerk. (i) Shift Workers: a regular shift shall be a maximum of ten (10) hours on a rotating twenty-four (24) hour schedule inclusive of a one (1) hour lunch period, averaging approximately 1950 hours annually.
(ii) Non-rotating shift shall be any seven and one half (7.5) hour period averaging seventy-five (75) hours biweekly excluding a one (1) hour unpaid lunch period. A regular shift shall be Monday to Friday.
Police Clerk. The Police Clerk may choose to work the actual holiday at their discretion, otherwise whenever any of the above-listed holidays shall fall on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday. Whenever any of the above-listed holidays shall fall on Sunday, the succeeding Monday shall be observed as the holiday. Note: Parties to discontinue past practice of additional day of leave if vacation used on a holiday.
Police Clerk. The parties mutually agree that the title of Police Clerk shall be representative of a part-time position with a starting hourly wage between $12.50 to $14.50 per hour. Employer shall have full discretion to hire at a wage within the aforesaid range based on Employer’s determination of the qualifications and/or experience of such new hire.
