Provision of transport. (a) No allowances, other than those prescribed in clauses 27.8 and 27.10 and in the circumstances described in clause 27.11(b), will be payable on any day on which the Employer provides or offers to provide transport free of charge from the Employee’s home to the place of work and return. (b) Subject to 27.11(c), the allowance prescribed in clause 27.5 will be payable on any day for which the Employer provides a vehicle free of charge to the Employee for a purpose related to their contract of employment, and the Employee is required by the Employer to drive this vehicle from the Employee’s home to their place of work and return. (c) The parties recognise that in some circumstances where the Employer provides a vehicle free of charge to an Employee it will not be appropriate for the Employee to also receive the allowance prescribed in clause 27.5. As such, where the Employer provides a fully fuelled and maintained vehicle to the Employee such that the Employee has reasonable private use of the vehicle, the allowance will not be payable. Any disputes as to the application of this clause may be resolved via the Dispute Resolution Procedure.

Provision of transport. Employers shall provide employees who are required to travel to carry out their official duties, with appropriate transport. The term appropriate transport in this clause includes use of public transport, employer provided vehicles, taxis, rental cars, and also payment of equivalent fares or motor vehicle allowance in terms of clause 4.3 of this agreement when it is agreed by the employer and employees that the employees shall use their own vehicles.

Provision of transport. 6.1.1 Where employees are required by the Ministry to use their private vehicle for travel between more than one work location the Ministry policy on reimbursement of private motor vehicle expenses will apply. This provides for reimbursement in accordance with Inland Revenue Department mileage rates. The rates and any changes to the rates will be available from the employee's manager and on the Ministry's intranet. 6.1.2 All employees when using private motor vehicles on official business will be included in the Ministry motor vehicle insurance scheme. A joint Ministry/NZEI Te Riu Roa plain English explanation of how this policy applies to support workers will be provided to newly appointed support workers as part of the induction process and included in the support workers’ handbook currently under development. Provision of transport. (1) Where a worker is required to commence or finish duty after the hour of 8.00 p.m. or before the hoiurs of 8.00 a.m. the employer shall provide or re-imburse the worker for the reasonable cost of transport to or from the workers residence up to a maximum of thirty kilometres. (2) Where by agreement between the employer and the worker the worker uses his own motor vehicle for transport, he shall be paid seventeen cents per kilometre up to a maximum of thirty kilometres for such travel, with a minimum payment of fifty cents as follows:- (a) When he is required to work beyond 8.00 p.m. on any day. (b) When he is required to commence work before 8.00 a.m. on any day. (c) When he is required for overtime duty, not a consecutive extension with the ordinary hours of the day.
Provision of transport. 7.1 The Contractor will ensure that it has appropriate transport in order to fulfil any Works Order which may be offered.
