Double Shifts. (a) No Nurse shall be required to work a double shift without their consent, except in emergency situations, unless the Employer has made every reasonable effort to find a Nurse to work the shift.
(b) Unless mutually agreed upon otherwise, any Nurse required to work a double shift shall have their next scheduled shift off where operational requirements permit.
Double Shifts. It is mutually understood and agreed that working a double shift (i.e., two shifts in any one twenty-four hour period) is undesirable.
Double Shifts. An Employee shall not be required to work a double shift without the Employee’s consent. All hours worked beyond seven and one half (7.5) hours (eleven and one quarter (11.25) hours) shall be compensated in accordance with article 21.3 at time and one half and any additional hours worked after fifteen (15) hours shall be compensated at the rate of double time. A rest period of less than eight (8) hours shall not break the hours referenced above. If the rest period is less than eight (8) hours prior to the Employee’s next regularly scheduled shift, and the Employee is required to work, the Employee will continue to be compensated at the overtime rate. If the rest period is less than eight (8) hours prior to the Employee’s next regularly scheduled shift, and the Employee chooses to work, the Employee will be compensated at the Employee’s regular rate of pay.
Double Shifts. When an employee is required and scheduled by the District to work two (2) eight (8) hour shifts within a twenty-four (24) hour period, the second shift will be paid for at the overtime rate of pay. The overtime rate shall not apply in situations where the employee has volunteered and/or requested to work such a schedule.
Double Shifts. Except in cases of emergency, no employee will be required to work more than double the hours in their normal shift within a twenty-four (24) hour period. For example, an employee working a ten (10) hour shift would not be required to work more than twenty (20) hours. In such cases of emergency, employees shall be paid double time for those hours worked in excess of a double shift.
Double Shifts. When the RN works two (2) consecutive 8-hour shifts, the overtime rate for the second seven and one-half (7 ½) hours will be two (2) times the RN’s base hourly rate when these two (2) complete shifts are worked at the request of the management representative. The RN will not be required to return to work in less than twelve (12) hours.
A. The maximum overtime an RN receives will be no greater than two (2) times the RN’s base hourly rate, except differentials (Article 11) to which the RN is otherwise entitled will apply to overtime hours worked.
B. Overtime will apply to patient care, administrative (ADM), required educations (EDU) and new training (TRN) time only.
