Public Outreach and Workforce Development i. Prepare outreach and educational materials, in consultation with CARB, and work with community-based organizations (CBOs) to: a) Conduct statewide public outreach necessary to educate local community members about the benefits of the local projects and about technical training opportunities that may result from such projects. b) Conduct statewide public outreach necessary for the Project to be successful. c) Conduct statewide public outreach to equipment dealers and fleets and work with community-based organizations (CBOs) necessary for the Project to be successful. d) Advise CARB on potential additional opportunities for outreach and technical assistance. ii. The Grantee shall clearly identify an outreach plan that contains, at minimum: a) The types of outreach planned (e.g. printed materials, web based, and social-media); b) Outreach materials, such as fact sheets, infographics, and other multimedia tools, such as videos, readily accessible on the website or social media platforms; c) Translation services for CARB staff and documents to support the Program; d) Targeted outreach in disadvantaged communities (based on CalEnviroscreen 4.0 ); e) A list of CBOs by region that will partner with the Grantee; f) A strategy to support organizations and groups that are representative of disadvantaged communities and that are connected to a network of similar organizations, institutions and community service providers to provide education, technical assistance, ride opportunities, etc. to these communities; g) A strategy to engage lower-income and disadvantaged communities through activities relevant to the community being served; h) A strategy to increase the awareness of fleets and dealers of the incentives to spur the adoption of advanced clean heavy-duty vehicles and equipment statewide and to support dealerships and manufacturers in reaching out to sales staff and consumers to ensure widespread awareness of the program; i) Dealer trainings (possibly on site) and public question and answer sessions; j) Conduct technical assistance to fleets to spur the adoption of advanced clean heavy-duty vehicle and equipment statewide. Technical assistance could include one-on-one support, fleet case management, fleet electrification reports, personalized referrals and personalized follow up and must include: 1) A statewide technical assistance program that will assist fleets in the planning necessary to adopt advanced clean heavy-duty vehicles and equipment; and 2) Colle...

Compliment CARB’s outreach to businesses within disadvantaged communities that use conventional vehicles and equipment that can be replaced with advanced technology vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure. iii. Assist technical grantee’s in implementing technical training components included in their Grant Agreements and provide CARB assistance in supporting technical training opportunities in and supporting disadvantaged communities. iv. Be able to provide translation services for CARB staff and documents to support the Program. v. In consultation with CARB develop a best practices manual for the proper implementation of CARB’s demonstration and pilot projects. vi. Respond promptly to legislative and public requests regarding ATDPP in coordination with CARB. vii. Coordinate with manufacturers of advanced technology vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure. viii. Assist CARB in planning of public events that showcase the project.

  • Employee Development The Employer may provide employees the opportunity to participate in appropriate seminars, workshops or short courses. When possible and appropriate the Employer will provide to all staff information on seminars, workshops or short courses by posting a notice on the Employer’s internal web site.

  • EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING 1. The State agrees to provide advice and counseling to employees with respect to career advancement opportunities and agency developments which have an impact on their careers. 2. Regular review of its job-related and career development and training programs will be made by the State in order to provide suitable programs for employees covered by this Agreement. When undertaking any such review, the State shall notify employees of such review and take into account suggestions and proposals made by employees. 3. Employees shall be given a reasonable notice of applicable, development and training programs available. Such notice shall include an explanation of the procedure for applying for the program. Notices of development and training programs shall be posted for reasonable periods in advance on bulletin boards at applicable work locations within the agencies involved. An appointing authority shall make every effort to permit employees' participation in such career development and training programs. Participation in any training inside or outside of work hours which is required by the State as a condition of fulfilling the requirements of the employee's job, or any in-service State training which is conducted or undertaken during normally scheduled work hours will be considered as time worked. 4. The State shall pay tuition, course-related fees, other approved course required costs and for necessary travel and lodging pursuant to established policies and procedures.

  • TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT 9.1 The Employer and the Union recognize the value and benefit of education and training designed to enhance an employee’s ability to perform their job duties. Training and employee development opportunities will be provided to employees in accordance with Employer policies and available resources. 9.2 Attendance at employer-required training will be considered time worked. The Employer will make reasonable attempts to schedule employer-required training during an employee’s regular work shift. The Employer will pay the registration and associated travel costs in accordance with Article 23, Travel, for employer-required training.

  • Software Development Software designs, prototypes, and all documentation for the final designs developed under this agreement must be made fully transferable upon direction of NSF. NSF may make the software design, prototype, and documentation for the final design available to competitors for review during any anticipated re-competition of the project.

  • Sustainable Development 4.1 The Authority will review the Contractor’s Sustainable Development Policy Statement and Sustainable Development Plan submitted by the Contractor in accordance with the Schedule (Sustainable Development Requirements) and then at least annually thereafter. 4.2 Sustainable Procurement Risk Assessment Methodology (SPRAM) is a tool used by the Authority to identify and mitigate any potential risks to sustainability in contracts. The process requires that each Contract be assessed for its potential social, economic and environmental risks, throughout the various stages of its lifetime. Where risks are identified, appropriate mitigation action is required to reduce or eliminate the risk to sustainability. The Authority may at times require input from the Contractor in order to ensure that this process is given the required levels of consideration.

  • Product Development (a) Supplier may develop enhancements it intends to incorporate into the BioGlue Surgical Adhesive during the term of this Agreement that have potential application to the Company Product (“Enhancements”). Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, at least once every six months during the Term, representatives of each of BioForm and Supplier shall hold a meeting in accordance with Sections 4.4 and 8.4 (the “Product Development Meeting”) at which Supplier will present Enhancements for BioForm to consider for application to the Company Product. At such Product Development Meeting, BioForm will also present its marketing plans (pursuant to Section 4.4) for the period and any information or feedback that BioForm reasonably believes may lead to Improvements. Within 30 calendar days following each Product Development Meeting, Supplier shall deliver a notice to BioForm (the “Enhancements Notice”) that shall describe the Enhancements that were presented by Supplier at such Product Development Meeting. Within 30 calendar days following receipt of the Enhancements Notice, BioForm may notify Supplier in writing if BioForm elects that any Enhancement described in the Enhancements Notice shall become an Improvement. If BioForm does provide such notice to Supplier during such 30-calendar day period, then BioForm and Supplier shall agree on a timeline for implementation of the Improvement in new Product Specifications for Company Product. If BioForm does not provide such a notice, said Enhancement shall not be implemented into the Company Product. The Enhancements Notice may also describe any potential Enhancements presented by Supplier at the Product Development Meeting, but BioForm shall not be required to take any action under this Section 8.4 with respect to such potential Enhancements until such time as they are presented by Supplier as Enhancements at a future Product Development Meeting. All Enhancements and potential Enhancement information provided by Supplier shall be considered Supplier Confidential Information. (b) From time to time, each party may request the other party to participate in joint projects to develop Improvements. (c) In the absence of a Development Agreement, (i) BioForm and Supplier shall retain joint ownership of Intellectual Property rights in which there is joint inventorship by BioForm (or its Affiliates) and Supplier, as determined in accordance with United States patent law, with Supplier’s rights in such joint ownership being subject to the license rights of BioForm under this Agreement, (ii) any Intellectual Property rights related to the Company Products, Enhancements, and Improvements that are created solely by employees or consultants of Supplier during the Term shall be considered to be Intellectual Property rights of Supplier, subject to the license rights of BioForm under this Agreement, and (iii) any Intellectual Property rights related to the Company Products and Improvements that are created solely by employees or consultants of BioForm or any of its Affiliates during the Term shall be considered to be Intellectual Property rights of BioForm. BioForm hereby grants to Supplier a perpetual, royalty free, world-wide, nonexclusive license to Supplier under such Blocking Intellectual Property to make, use, and sell such Intellectual Property outside the Field. “Blocking Intellectual Property” for the purposes of Section 8.4(c)(iii) shall mean Intellectual Property necessary for Supplier to make, use, or sell SA Product.

  • Career Development The City and the Union agree that employee career growth can be beneficial to both the City and the affected employee. As such, consistent with training needs identified by the City and the financial resources appropriated therefore by the City, the City shall provide educational and training opportunities for employee career growth. Each employee shall be responsible for utilizing those training and educational opportunities made available by the City or other institutions for the self- development effort needed to achieve personal career goals.
