Remote response. Remote response applies if you receive On Call Allowance and are available to immediately: In this instance you will be paid the applicable overtime rate for the time actually taken in dealing with each particular matter, except where you are recalled to work. If you are recalled to work, you will be paid at overtime rates for the time from when you leave for work until the time you return from work. If you are remotely responding, you will be required to submit a daily time sheet of time taken in dealing with each matter remotely commencing from the first remote response. The total overtime paid from the first response will be rounded up to the nearest 15 minutes. If agreed, we may make an average payment equivalent to an agreed period of time per week where you are regularly required to remotely respond.

Remote response. Remote response is defined as a situation in which an employee is contacted to respond after the end of their normal workday, or on a scheduled day off, due to unplanned or unforeseen circumstances, but such response does not require the employee to report to a designated work location. Remote Response occurs when an employee accepts or returns a call or message, or logs into a City device or system, for the purpose of responding as requested by the City. a) Employees who provide Remote Response shall receive a minimum of two (2) hour of overtime pay at one and a half (1½) times their regular straight-time hourly rate of pay. If the total duration of the work exceeds two (2) hours, overtime will be paid for the actual time spent performing such duties. b) Employees who respond within two (2) hours from the starting time of their next regularly scheduled work shift shall be compensated at the overtime rate of pay for only those hours immediately preceding the start of their next regularly scheduled work shift, and the remote response provision shall not apply.
Remote response. (a) In this agreement unless the contrary intention appears, remote response duties include: (i) responding to phone calls, messages or emails; (ii) providing advice (‘phone fixes’); (iii) arranging call out/rosters of other employees; and (iv) remotely monitoring and/or addressing issues by remote telephone and/or computer access. (b) If an employee is required to perform remote response duties between 6.00am and 10.00pm in any day, the employee will be paid at the prescribed overtime rate for the time worked, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. (c) If an employee is required to perform remote response duties between 10.00pm and 6.00am in any day the employee will be paid at the prescribed overtime rate for the time worked, with a minimum payment as for one hour. Where such work exceeds one hour, payment will be made at the prescribed overtime rate for the duration of the work. (d) An employee remotely responding will be required to maintain and provide to the employer a time sheet of the length of time taken in dealing with each matter remotely for each day commencing from the first remote response.
