Room Condition. The university agrees to provide and the resident agrees to maintain the assigned room and all public areas in and around the immediate building(s) accessible to the resident in a clean, safe and sanitary condition. Upon termination of this agreement, the student should leave the assigned room, its furnishings, and its equipment in as good an order and condition as the same were upon commencement of the student’s occupancy, ordinary wear and tear excepted. University staff will complete an inventory of furnishings and an assessment of damages; charges will be assessed to the responsible individual(s). Personal property left in a room following the termination of occupancy will be deemed abandoned. Students will be charged for the removal of such property.
Room Condition. A. The University agrees to provide, and the Licensee agrees to maintain, the assigned room and all public areas in and around the immediate building(s) accessible to the Licensee in a clean, safe and sanitary condition. Upon termination of this License Agreement, the Licensee should leave the assigned room, its furnishings, and its equipment in as good an order and condition as the same were upon commencement of the Licensee’s occupancy, reasonable wear and tear excepted. University housing staff members will conduct an inventory of furnishings and assess of room damages, if any, to the responsible individual(s). Any personal property left in a room following the expiration or termination of the License Agreement shall be deemed abandoned and shall be immediately disposed. The Student may also be charged for the removal of such abandoned property.
B. The Student shall make no alterations in the space, shall not damage nor permit damage to any part of the space,; shall not do anything that shall constitute a fire or health hazard; and shall not permit the accumulation of waste and refuse within the space. Violation of these terms and conditions by the Student may be the basis for disciplinary action, including, but not limited to, dismissal from the University Residence Halls and possibly, the University.
C. There will be a replacement charge for mailbox keys and/or access cards that are not returned. The cost for key replacement is stated when the Student checks into their assigned space. Mailbox keys provided though HRL may not be duplicated.
D. When leaving the University Residence Halls at the end of the year or when terminating housing during the school year, the Student shall follow the prescribed check-out procedures. A student leaving the University Residence Hall during the year must notify HRL by submitting a housing cancellation form at least 48 hours prior to leaving. HRL may assess a $50 penalty to the Student’s account for failing to follow the prescribed checkout procedures.
Room Condition. Size While every effort will be made to address maintenance issues in a timely manner, adjustments to Residence Fees will not be made based on room condition, size, or the furnishings provided. The Resident agrees to leave the premises at the end of the Agreement in the same or better condition as when the Resident took possession and in a clean and broom-swept condition.
Room Condition. Each student must complete, sign, and return a Check in Form (CIF) at the time of moving into a room to document problems with the condition of the room prior to occupancy. Students will be held responsible for any damage to their room that is found when they move out unless otherwise (a) noted on the CIF; (b) normal wear and tear; or (c) a maintenance problem properly reported during the year. Rooms will be inspected as a result of completing proper checkout procedures and the student must be present during the room inspection. If for any reason, the CIF has not been completed and returned 24 hours after check in, the Residence Hall administration will assume that there were no problems with the room when the students initially moved in.
Room Condition a) When you move into your residential space, you will have an opportunity to complete a room condition record, which will be an accurate and complete record of the contents and condition of the assigned residential space. This inventory will serve as the basis for any check-out charges you may be assessed.
b) A failure on your part to complete check-in or check-out procedures will not prevent assessment of charges. You agree to follow the proper check-out procedure when vacating the premises. Should extra cleaning by university personnel be required, you may be assessed a service charge.
c) You are responsible for cleaning your own residential space, for removing waste materials regularly, and for maintaining a sanitary and safe environment acceptable to the university.
d) All university-provided furniture must remain in rooms, suites or common areas to which it has been allocated. Residential Living will not provide storage for furniture and any furniture that is missing upon checkout will be charged for accordingly.
e) Residential Living does not allow students to construct their own bed-lofting structures.
i) Lofts are available for rent via xxxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx/store/uwsp/. More information about loft rentals are provided to students in the summer prior to fall move-in.
ii) Rented lofts must be disassembled and removed from the residential space upon check out.
f) False walls, partitions, or platforms are also not allowed in any of the residence halls.
Room Condition. The Student is responsible to maintain the Premises and any common areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. Upon expiration, termination, or cancellation of this Agreement, the Student must leave the Premises, its furnishings, and its equipment in as good an order and condition as the same were upon commencement of the Student’s occupancy, ordinary wear and tear excepted. Room Condition. Each resident of a room must complete and sign a Room Condition Form (RCF) at the time of moving into a new room to document problems, if any, with the condition of the room prior to occupancy. Residents will be held responsible for any damage to their room that is found when they move out unless the damage is: (a) noted on the RCF; (b) normal wear and tear; or (c) a maintenance problem properly and timely reported during the year. Rooms will be inspected after proper checkout procedures have been completed and the room has been fully vacated. Residents are encouraged to schedule this inspection with their Resident Advisor (RA) before moving out and to be present at the time of inspection. Department staff will also conduct routine inspections and assess final charges after the building is closed. Any charges will be itemized and assessed to the student account. If, for any reason, the inventory form has not been completed and returned, the Department will assume that there were no problems with the room when the resident initially moved in.

Upon move- out, University staff will take an inventory of the furnishings and assess any damages found in the Room, if any. Any and all repair costs for damages will be charged to: 1) the Student responsible for such damages; or 2) all occupants, if University staff is unable to determine individual responsibility. Personal property left in a room following move-out will be deemed abandoned and the Student(s) will be charged for the removal of such property.
B. The Student shall not damage the Room in which the Housing Assignment is located or any furnishings (including common areas) located therein. The Student shall not remove common area furniture from designated spaces. If any damage or furniture removal occurs, the Student will be billed for any and all repair or replacement costs. In the event of willful damage to the common areas located in the vicinity of the Student’s space (and/or to the furnishings and facilities located therein), and in the event the responsible individuals of such damage cannot be identified, all Students served by the common area will be assessed for such repair and/or damage costs.
C. The Student’s failure to occupy an assigned space by 5 p.m. on the first day of classes could result in the reassignment of the room to another student, unless the Student sends an advance written request for an extension of the arrival period and such request is granted in writing by HRL. If the Student fails to occupy the room assignment by the first day of classes, they may be subject to housing cancellation fees.
D. The Student shall not: 1) make any material alterations in the room in which the Housing Assignment is located without express written permission from the Director of Housing or a designee; 2) damage any part of such room; 3) take any actions that would constitute a fire or health hazard; and 4) permit the accumulation of waste and/or refuse within the room in which the Housing Assignment is located. Room Condition. All Residents are required to sign a Room/Apartment Condition Report noting the condition of the room/bedroom and associated common areas upon check in and acknowledge receipt of room key, prox card and mail-box key or combination card. A final inspection will be conducted at the time of check out as described in the Student Housing Handbook. Furnishings are provided for use in the assigned room/apartment. All university provided furniture must remain in the Resident’s assigned space. If furniture is removed from the assigned space, the Resident will incur charges until all University owned furniture is returned to its assigned space. If the assigned occupancy is a single in the Residence Hall, the Resident may request one bed, one desk, and one chair be removed through the Housing work order system.
