Complaints and/or Disputes It is the intent of the parties that no employee shall be required to work under conditions which are unsafe or unhealthy, and that an employee who believes that he is being so required shall have the right to: File a grievance in the first step of the grievance proce- dure for preferred handling in such procedure and Arbitration; or: Notify his supervisor of such condition, which the super- visor shall investigate immediately. If the existence of such unsafe or unhealthy condition is disputed by the supervisor, the Chairman of the Safety and Health Committee or his designee the Plant Manager or his designee and the appropriate Union Safety representative shall be notified immediately and they shall investigate the condition and determine whether or not it is unsafe or unhealthy. If the issue is not resolved, the employee shall have the right to present a grievance in the sec- ond step of the grievance procedure. Safety and Health griev- ances shall be handled as expeditiously as possible. In the event that an employee is relieved for a job due to an unsafe condition, the Company, before assigning, shall advise any potential replacement of the grounds on which the job was contested as unsafe.   • SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION In performing work under this Contract on State premises, Contractor shall conform to any specific safety requirements contained in the Contract or as required by law or regulation.
