Safety Apparel and Equipment. Each employee shall be required to wear such safety and protective apparel and devices as furnished by the City. Employees shall be instructed as to the safety apparel and/or equipment required for the work to be performed and the proper use thereof. In order to efficiently distribute job related safety equipment and to encourage individual employee responsibility, each bureau, with DCTU input, shall set work group standards as to what schedule and in what quantity it shall be issued.
22.13.1 The bureau will have an initial meeting with the union on proposed changes from current practice. At that meeting the parties agree to meet up to an additional two times within 14 calendar days, or such other schedule as is mutually agreeable. The discussions shall be limited to quantity and frequency of items issued. If the parties are unable to reach an agreement, the unresolved portions will be referred to the first available local Metropolitan Portland area arbitrator supplied by the State Employment Relations Board. The parties shall equally share the costs of the arbitration. The arbitrator shall issue a bench decree after a hearing of no more than two hours in length that is the final offer of one of the parties. The decree shall be final and binding. Attorney advocates shall not be allowed as representatives.
Safety Apparel and Equipment. The Employer shall maintain adequate supplies of safety apparel and equipment required by regulatory bodies.
Safety Apparel and Equipment. 1. In the event that safety equipment of any kind is required by law, regulation, or Employer directive, it shall be provided at the expense of the Employer. The Union shall not be responsible for any violation of safety statutes or regulations. All safety apparel and protective clothing shall be furnished by the Employer except prescription glasses and safety shoes which shall be provided by the employee.
2. It is understood that all Employer-supplied safety apparel is the Employer's property. A receipt for apparel and authorization for deduction of cost for same will be signed by the employee. In the event an employee fails to return an Employer's apparel, said employee will reimburse his Employer by having the cost of said apparel deducted from his next payroll check as per the authorization.
Safety Apparel and Equipment. The District will furnish safety wearing apparel and safety equipment where management determines that work conditions require such apparel or equipment.
Safety Apparel and Equipment. 1.1 Contractor shall furnish all required safety apparel and equipment for the Work at Contractor’s sole cost and as Contractor Furnished Items. This includes at a minimum: flame resistant clothing (FRC), hard hats, safety footwear, safety glasses with side xxxxxxx, and work gloves appropriate for the hazards. In addition, Contractor shall provide work activity-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, personal alarm monitors (hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and/or, oxygen and lower explosive limit (LEL) monitors, as applicable to the Work Site and work activities), respirators, chemical protective clothing, personal flotation devices, electric shock/arc flash protection, personal fall protection, and/or rescue equipment. All safety apparel and equipment shall meet the standards of the applicable regulatory agencies and Contractor’s personnel shall be trained in their proper use, storage, and maintenance.
1.2 Contractor Personnel reporting to a Work Site without proper safety apparel and equipment shall not be permitted to work and shall render Contractor in default. No compensation shall be paid by Company for such Contractor’s personnel until the situation has been corrected.
Safety Apparel and Equipment. 6.01 The Board, Trustholders and Employees recognize their responsibilities to develop and maintain a safe work environment and the intent of relevant health and safety legislation shall apply.
Safety Apparel and Equipment. Protective devices, special wearing apparel and other special equipment necessary to properly protect employees from injury and required by the Company shall be provided without cost to the employee, except that the cost of safety shoes will be limited to $100.00 per contract year and must be purchased in compliance with the Company's Safety Shoe Purchase Procedure. Prescription safety glasses shall be provided through a Company-provided program once every two years. Non-prescription safety glasses, goggles, gas masks; face xxxxxxx; respirators; special purpose gloves; fire proof or acid proof protective clothing when necessary and required by the Company shall be provided without cost to the employee, except that the Company may assess a fair charge to cover loss or willful destruction thereof by the employee. Proper heating and ventilating systems shall be installed where needed and maintained in good working condition.
