Scheduling of Days Off. The manufacturers agree that the scheduling of days off shall be on a consecutive basis wherever practicable.

27.01 The Employer agrees to arrange shifts so that employees will receive a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours between shifts and changeover of shifts, and forty (40) hours if there is one day off between the changeover, and sixty-four (64) hours if there are two (2) days off between the change-over of shifts. In the event employees of their own accord, for their own personal convenience, arrange to change shifts with appropriately qualified other employees, with prior approval of the Executive Director or designate, the Employer reserves the right to request signed statements from such employees and shall not be responsible or liable for overtime rate claims and non-compliance with the above provisions, that might arise or accrue as a result of the exchange of shifts. Such permission shall not be unreasonably denied. The employer will allow full-time employees to exchange shifts with part-time employees and vice versa, once a schedule has been posted. In these instances the second and third sentence of Article 27.01 (full-time) shall apply to both the full-time and part-time bargaining unit employees. Employees shall be restricted to four (4) shifts changes per month. One shift change includes a straight block of time (2 weeks) with one person.
27.02 Except in the case of an emergency (and exclusive of the effect of an exchange of shifts between two (2) employees for personal convenience), no employee shall be scheduled to work more than seven (7) consecutive days without being given two (2) or more days off work, provided, however, that overtime rate shall be paid for any days worked over seven (7) consecutive days by reason of such emergency or otherwise except only because of such exchange.
27.03 Work schedules covering a four (4) week period will be posted two (2) weeks in advance. Employee requests for specific days off must be submitted to the Department Manager one (l) week in advance of posting.
27.04 All employees who work on an assigned day off as per assigned schedule, at the Employer's request, will be paid overtime at the rate of time and one-half (1 /2) for all hours worked. Employees who are scheduled to work less than seventy-five hours in a two (2) week period will not qualify for overtime on an assigned day off until they have completed seventy-five (75) hours of work in the scheduled two (2) week period.

(a) Call-In Process: The Employer shall authorize offering available work caused by the replacement of absent employees to part-time then casual employees at regular time in the department concerned in order of seniority. If overtime will be offered, in which case it will be offered by seniority first to full-time, then part-time, then casual employees.
(b) Such shifts shall be offered either in person or by the telephone number submitted on file by the employee.
(c) The person designated by the Employer to offer call-ins shall keep a record of all telephone calls made, including the time of the call and response, if any. Such record shall be made available to the Chairperson upon request.
