Seniority Layoff Rehire. 4 Layoff seniority is defined as the continuous length of service in calendar days with 5 the Employer from the most recent date of hire. Service of less than full time shall 6 be considered full time. Time spent on leave of absence without pay or on paid or 7 unpaid leave will not impact layoff seniority. Time spent on the layoff rehire list shall 8 not be included in computing layoff seniority. except for cyclic year positions, but 9 does not constitute a break in service. 11 Permanent employees who are veterans or their unmarried widows/widowers shall 12 have added to their seniority the veteran’s active military service to a maximum of 13 five (5) years credit. Time spent on military duty leave, paid or unpaid, or time spent 14 on leave without pay to work for the union in accordance with Article 29 is included 15 in seniority calculation. Probationary employees are not vested with seniority 16 credits until successfully completing the probationary period. 18 Seniority shall be lost following a break in service including resignation, termination 19 for cause, failure to return from a leave of absence, expiration of rehire rights. 20 Neither time spent on leave of absence, nor the layoff rehire list, or on cyclic year 21 leave shall be considered a break in service for the calculation of layoff seniority. 24 of Washington shall be credited with layoff seniority for all seniority earned in the 25 State classified service while employed at the University. Employees who enter 26 into the bargaining unit from other state agencies and institutions of higher 27 education shall earn layoff seniority from the first day of coverage under this 28 Agreement.

  • Seniority Lost Seniority will be lost when an employee:

  • Seniority Frozen When an Agency intends to initiate a layoff, the Agency will notify the Union in writing that all seniority will be frozen from the date of notice for a period not to exceed three (3) months. However, during the period when seniority is frozen, the employee will continue to accumulate time towards seniority for purposes of future computations. The three (3) month freeze may be extended by mutual written agreement of the Union and the Agency.

  • Seniority Unit Layoff List Selection shall next be made from the Seniority Unit Layoff List unless the vacancy is being filled by an employee with more classification seniority who has received notice of permanent layoff.

  • Seniority Roster The District shall maintain an updated seniority roster, indicating employee's class seniority and hire date seniority. Such rosters shall be available to CSEA.

  • CASUAL SENIORITY EMPLOYEE LIST On or before September 1, 2016, School Boards shall establish a seniority list for casual/temporary employees, where a list does not currently exist. This will be a separate list from permanent employees and shall have as its sole purpose to track length of service with the Board. Further, the list shall have no other force or effect on local collective agreements other than those that may already exist for casual/temporary employees in the 2008-12 local collective agreement.

  • Seniority Rosters Quarterly, the Employer shall prepare a roster of all bargaining unit employees in an institution, geographic jurisdiction or Agency as appropriate. The roster will list employees in descending order of State seniority credits and will contain each employee’s name, State seniority credits, and Institutional seniority credits if applicable. Seniority rosters will be provided to the Chapter President or Assembly President and posted in the work areas of affected employees. Where available, the Employer may provide an electronic posting of the roster in lieu of a paper roster. Each employee’s individual employee seniority credits will be displayed on the employee’s earnings statement.

  • Seniority List The Employer shall maintain a seniority list showing the date upon which each employee's service commenced. An up-to-date seniority list shall be sent to the Union and posted on all bulletin boards in January of each year.

  • Seniority Date Employees shall acquire seniority upon completion of the probationary period as defined in Article XIII and upon acquiring seniority, the seniority date shall relate back to the first date of continuous service in the bargaining unit. If more than one employee commences work on the same date, lot shall determine seniority ranking for such employees. A District-Wide seniority list will be provided for the exclusive representative no later than November 1 of each year.
