Sick Leave Calculation. One (1) day of paid sick leave for an employee shall be equivalent to one (1) normally scheduled work day of pay at the rate applicable to the employee's regular job classification assignment at the start of the absence for which compensation is requested. Whenever sick leave payments are made under this Article, the amount of such payments shall be deducted from the employee's accumulated unused bank of paid sick leave credits.

Sick Leave Calculation. Sick leave will be calculated on an hourly basis. Such deductions shall be at the same rate as hours of leave.
Sick Leave Calculation. Leave usage shall be calculated based on the proportion that the time off bears to a 35 hour week/7 hour day. For example, if a unit member is absent due to illness for one-half day, the unit member will use 3.5 hours sick leave.
Sick Leave Calculation. In the event an Employee becomes ill while on an assigned shift, and he has completed a quarter (1/4) of said shift, he shall be paid for one half (1/2) a shift and credited sick leave for the second half.   • Sick Leave Payment Any employee, at his/her option may choose to receive payment for sick leave earned during the year which is unused at the end of the year. Any such payment must be for the total number of unused sick leave hours earned during the year, must be based on the hourly rate of pay of the employee multiplied by 50 percent, and all hours for which payment is received must be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave balance. Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.

  • Sick Leave Credits Regular employees who have completed their probationary period will accrue sick leave credits at the rate of one day per month to a maximum of 156 days. Upon completion of their probationary period, an employee will be credited with sick leave back to the employee's starting date. Upon request, an employee will be advised in writing of the balance of their sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Reimbursement An employee who has received sick leave benefits for injuries caused by a third party shall be obliged, in the event such employee undertakes an action for recovery of damages against the third party, to seek recovery of the total cost of wages and benefits paid to the employee while on sick leave. The employee shall be obliged to reimburse the Employer to the extent the employee succeeded in recovering such wages and benefits. This provision includes claims made to ICBC.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.
