Sick Leave Credit Retirement Gratuity. 1. A teacher having had 17 years or more service as a teacher with this Board or any Board dissolved on January 1, 1969 because of the formation of this Board, who retires under the provisions of the Teachers' Pension Act, shall continue to be paid his/her salary at the same rate as at retirement for a limited period to the extent of one-half the amount of any accumulated Sick Leave acquired while in the service of the aforementioned Boards (not including any accumulation transferred from another Board for Sick Leave purposes only), but not exceeding 100 days. 2. Upon reaching the maximum accumulation of 200 days, made up partly of the transferred credits from another Board and partly of accumulated credits with this Board or the Boards that were dissolved because of the formation of this Board, the teacher shall be allowed to continue accumulating with the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Board by reducing the transferred credits, until the maximum of 200 days has been accumulated with the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Board for the purposes of Sick Leave Credit Retirement Gratuity.
Sick Leave Credit Retirement Gratuity. Upon retirement to a pension under the Teachers' Superannuation Act, a teacher with ten (10) or more years of consecutive service with KidsAbility School Authority shall be eligible for a sick leave retirement gratuity, as follows:
Sick Leave Credit Retirement Gratuity. (a) Upon retirement to a pension under the Teachers' Superannuation Act, a teacher with ten (10) or more years of consecutive service with KidsAbility School Authority shall be eligible for a sick leave retirement gratuity, as follows: (1) From September first (1st) 1977, full accumulation of unused sick leave days will be permitted with a maximum accumulation as of June thirtieth (30th), 1977 of two hundred and twenty (220) days. In cases of teacher illness or disability, this reserve of sick leave days shall be reduced by the number of days of the teacher’s absence, above the statutory allowance for the current year. Days of absence while a teacher is on the LTD Plan will not be charged against the accumulated Retirement Sick Leave Days. (2) The accumulated days for the gratuity purposes must be with KidsAbility School Authority. (3) The daily rate shall be 1/200 of year 0 category A1, for the gratuity calculation. (4) The calculation shall be *RSLD/2 x (1/200 of year 0 category A1) to a maximum of one-half of category A4 maximum or one-half teacher's salary in the last year of teaching, whichever is less. *RSLD = Retirement Sick Leave Days

  • Sick Leave Credit-Based Retirement Gratuities 1) A Teacher is not eligible to receive a sick leave credit gratuity after August 31, 2012, except a sick leave credit gratuity that the Teacher had accumulated and was eligible to receive as of that day. 2) If the Teacher is eligible to receive a sick leave credit gratuity, upon the Teacher’s retirement, the gratuity shall be paid out at the lesser of, a) the rate of pay specified by the board’s system of sick leave credit gratuities that applied to the Teacher on August 31, 2012; and b) the Teacher’s salary as of August 31, 2012. 3) If a sick leave credit gratuity is payable upon the death of a Teacher, the gratuity shall be paid out in accordance with subsection (2). 4) For greater clarity, all eligibility requirements must have been met as of August 31, 2012 to be eligible for the aforementioned payment upon retirement, and the Employer and Union agree that any and all wind-up payments to which Teachers without the necessary years of service were entitled to under Ontario Regulation 01/13: Sick Leave Credits and Sick Leave Credit Gratuities, have been paid. 5) For the purposes of the following boards, despite anything in the board’s system of sick leave credit gratuities, it is a condition of eligibility to receive a sick leave credit gratuity that the Teacher have ten (10) years of service with the board: i. Near North District School Board ii. Avon Maitland District School Board iii. Xxxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxxx District School Board

  • Sick Leave Credit All employees shall be able to draw on a block of six (6) days sick leave when they commence employment. If all or part of this block of sick leave is used it will be paid back as sick leave is accumulated. If an employee ceases employment and has a negative balance in sick leave credit, this amount will be deducted from his/her final paycheque.

  • Sick Leave Credits (a) Prior to the commencement of maternity leave, illness arising due to pregnancy may be covered by normal sick leave. (b) Sick leave may be used by any pregnant employee, authorized by the receipt of a qualified medical practitioner's statement to the Employer, where there is a confirmed case of German measles or any other disease or condition in the place of employment which could be harmful to pregnancy as determined by the qualified medical practitioner's statement or report. They may use this leave until all danger from such disease or condition no longer exists.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • Retirement Gratuity Those employees who, on August 31, 2012, were eligible for a retirement gratuity shall have their accumulated sick days vested as of that date, up to the maximum eligible under the retirement gratuity plan.

  • Vacation Leave Credits ‌ Full-time and part-time employees will be credited with vacation leave accrued monthly, according to the rate schedule and vacation leave accrual below.

  • Disability Retirement If, as a result of your incapacity due to physical or mental illness, You shall have been absent from the full-time performance of your duties with the Company for 6 consecutive months, and within 30 days after written notice of termination is given You shall not have returned to the full-time performance of your duties, your employment may be terminated for "Disability." Termination of your employment by the Company or You due to your "Retirement" shall mean termination in accordance with the Company's retirement policy, including early retirement, generally applicable to its salaried employees or in accordance with any retirement arrangement established with your consent with respect to You.

  • Early Retirement Incentive The Employer may offer to any faculty member or a faculty member may apply for one of the early retirement incentive alternatives described herein, provided the faculty member meets the following criteria. The Union shall be advised in writing of any offer of early retirement made to a faculty member.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.
