Summer Non-Work Period. The notice provisions regarding altering a shift schedule (as outlined in Article 27 of the Collective Agreement) shall not apply during the summer non-work period. Employees will be guaranteed a minimum of three (3) hours of pay at their OPSEU wage rate for each day that they are scheduled to be and are present at work. The University retains the absolute right to send an employee home prior to the scheduled end of his or her shift without pay, subject to the aforementioned three (3) hour pay minimum. The University further maintains the right to cancel an employee’s shift without pay provided at least twelve (12) hours advance notice is given to the employee. Notice can be provided to the employee either in person or by phoning the contact number that the employee has provided to the University. Any employee who works approved and assigned hours beyond thirty-six and one quarter (36.25) hours per week will be paid for such hours at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times his/her regular OPSEU rate of pay.

  • Teacher Work Day The term of contract for employees shall be one hundred ninety (190) days (maximum one hundred eighty (180) student days). Any extension of the term of contract shall be paid in full day increments and be paid at the rate of one-one hundred ninetieth (1/190) of the regular salary of the employee. The maximum daily hours of work for employees shall be 465 continuous minutes and shall include a minimum of thirty (30) minutes continuous, duty-free lunch period.
