Use of Vacation Credits of Succeeding Year at Christmas For purposes of taking time off at Christmas (December 15 to December 31) employees will be permitted to utilize earned vacation credits for the succeeding year.
Use of Vacation Credits. 5.3(a) Subject to management approval based on Company work schedule requirements, previously awarded vacation credits may be used by the employee without limit. Management will encourage employee use of vacation for time off within the period credits are available. Use of vacation at times convenient to the employee will be arranged to the extent permitted by Company work schedule requirements.
5.3(b) Vacations are to be taken as time off and there will be no pay in lieu of time off.
5.3(c) Generally, vacation credits are to be used in units equal to the scheduled hours in the employee's normal workday; however, vacation credits may be used in lesser amounts to permit a partial day absence. Also, in cases when sick leave credits are exhausted, a partial day of absence for sick leave may be charged against vacation credits in any amount up to the scheduled hours in the employee's normal workday.
5.3(d) Part-time employees normally will use vacation credits in amounts comparable to their part-time work schedules. However, subject to the scheduling requirements of his or her organization, a part-time employee may request and receive vacation in eight (8) hour increments.
Use of Vacation Credits. Accumulated vacation credits shall be reduced by one-half (½) hour for each one-half (½) that an employee remains on the payroll because of absence due to vacation.

Use of Vacation Credits. Employees shall request vacation dates using the Employer’s web-based Time-Off Request system. The Employer will endeavor to schedule his vacation as requested without negative impact on customer support requirements.
16.4(a) In instances where Employer management believes the awarding of vacations as requested would negatively impact customer support requirements, the scheduling of vacations shall be as near to the dates requested as possible. If an employee’s scheduled vacation is canceled by the Company and the employee is not permitted to reschedule his vacation before the end of his vacation year, he shall receive an exception to the carry over limit and will not be held to the limit until the next benefit anniversary year.
(b) In scheduling vacations, the Employer will attempt to meet its customer support requirements. In order to provide for scheduling of vacations, vacation requests must be submitted to the manager. The manager is the approving authority for all vacation requests. In the event of a conflict, vacation priority will be:
1. Time of first request.
