Summer Teaching. In the case of an additional contract for summer teaching (for Faculty on nine-month appointment), the contract will be tendered as soon as reasonably practicable after the appropriate Chair or Director determines that there are sufficient students in the class to justify offering it. If a summer class is later canceled due to insufficient enrollment and the Faculty member chooses to continue the contract, the Faculty member shall be given an equivalent assignment (e.g., an additional course) during the summer or the following academic year.

Summer Teaching a. Any teacher who is employed in an ESY (Extended School Year) program shall be compensated:
1. For the secondary program (4.5 hours, 24 days) - $4,752
2. For the elementary program (3 hours, 24 days) - $3,168.
b. Any teacher who is employed to teach the Summer School Program shall be compensated at $2,000. The compensation shall be prorated based upon actual attendance.
c. Any teacher who is employed through Student Services shall be compensated at the hourly rate of $44.
d. Any teacher who is employed in addition to the contractual time for after school instruction shall be compensated at the hourly rate of $44.
e. In no instance shall a teacher be paid less than the contractual rate provided by Section 4 above.
f. Any positions of Coordinator which are established in conjunction with any Summer programs shall be offered first to members of the Bargaining Unit, as provided in Article VI of this Agreement.
g. The stipend for Coordinators for the ESY and Summer School programs shall be $5,280 and $4,620 respectively.
Summer Teaching. Full-time, 9, and 10 month contract employees who do not have a regular summer and/or intersession teaching assignment as part of their official job duties may teach a summer and/or intersession course(s) and shall be compensated at the department or college rate applicable to adjunct instructors. Full-time, 12-month professional staff members who have a summer and/or intersession teaching assignment as part of their regular job duties and who accept an overload course(s) shall be paid for the overload course(s) at the department or college rate applicable to adjunct instructors. A department or college retains the sole discretion to pay an amount in excess of the adjunct rate for summer and/or intersession teaching based on factors such as special qualifications, experience and prior teaching performance.
Summer Teaching. Guidance and Adult Education shall be paid $24.00 per hour for the 2011-2014school years.
Summer Teaching. Any full-time faculty member who teaches in the Summer Sessions I, II or III shall receive the greater of one and eighty five one hundredths (1.85%) percent of his/her annual base salary for every one (1) semester hour taught during a summer session or the faculty member’s overload rate. In addition, full-time faculty who teach during the summer sessions shall be eligible for a bonus payment. Such bonus payment shall be determined each year as follows: For each three and three quarters (3.75%) percent increase in Student Semester Hours (SSH), provided there is an accompanying increase of one-half "person" in average class size (defined as SSH as a ratio of faculty hours), each faculty member teaching in the Summer Session shall receive a bonus equal to fifty ($50) dollars per credit taught in the combined Summer Sessions. The increase in SSH and average class size shall be determined based on a comparison of the SSH and average class size for the entire Summer Session (Summer I, II and III) as compared to the prior year Summer Sessions. However, the SSH and average class size for the 1991 Summer Sessions shall be the base year should the SSH or average class size for any Summer Session fall below the 1991 Summer Session levels.

Summer Teaching. The parties acknowledge that Indiana Code Section 20-28-6-7(d) provides that the superintendent shall determine the salary for a supplemental service (including summer school) contract. The Superintendent has determined that the supplemental service salary will be bargained. Accordingly, a bargaining unit member who is employed to teach in a summer school program, shall be paid for each hour of instruction per his hourly rate.
Summer Teaching. 1. Teachers may make application for summer teaching positions no later than April 20. All applicants shall be notified no later than June 1 of each year as to whether their applications have been approved.
2. Summer school teaching assigned by the District shall be compensated at one-eighth (1/8) of one-one ninetieth (1/190) of the teacher's salary schedule rate (prior school year salary schedule) for each hour taught.
