Ancillary Duty Pay. A. Each teacher directed to take part in in-service training, curriculum writing, workshops, or training seminars which take place outside of regular school hours, will be reimbursed at the rate of Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per hour of actual attendance in such training. Any teacher who is required to give up his regularly scheduled plan time for a required meeting or assignment as verified by the building principal or program director shall receive the $20 curriculum rate of pay for this period. B. Teachers who are scheduled to supervise extracurricular athletic events when there is an admission fee charged will be paid at least $10.00 per event worked. C. Posted Bus Duty positions that extend beyond the normal school day will be paid at the hourly rate of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) per hour.

Ancillary Duty Pay. Ancillary duties (i.e. curriculum writing, attendance at Open House or Back to School Night, etc.) performed prior to ratification and Board Approval of 2020-2021 Teacher Contract will be computed on the base pay of the previous year. Ancillary duties performed after ratification and Board approval of 2020-2021 Teacher Contract will be computed on the base pay of the current contract. Ancillary Duty Pay is calculated by taking the beginning teacher salary divided by 183 divided by 6.83. Technology Presentation Stipend - Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, building level technology presentations will be coordinated by the Technology Integrator. Availability to have 3 presentations per building per year involving 3 presenters each time for a total of 12 presenters each cycle (this sentence is for informational purposes only and was not bargained). Compensation is at the ancillary duty pay with one hour paid for preparation and one hour for the presentation if outside of the presenters’ contractual time.

The Board may schedule and conduct professional development and/or training activities for Teachers corporation-wide, in a particular subject area or grade level, or for all Teachers assigned to a particular school. The Board will provide Teachers with at least three (3) work days of notice in advance of such professional development or training activities. However, in the event the Board schedules the professional development or training activity to occur before/after the contractual work day (as is established under Indiana law) and during the course of the school year, the Board shall compensate Teachers at the hourly rate set out in this agreement. Ancillary Duty Pay. 1. Covering a class during a teacher’s prep time or supervisory time is an ancillary duty. A prep time buy out for the school year will be compensated at twenty percent (20%) of the district’s starting base salary and a prep time buy out for less than the school year will be compensated at ten percent (10%) of the district’s starting base salary. A supervisory period buy out for the school year will be compensated at ten percent (10%) of the district’s starting base salary and a supervisory period buy out for less than the school year will be compensated at five percent (5%) of the district’s starting base salary. 2. Teachers will receive $20 per class period when assigned the ancillary duty of covering a class period of another teacher by providing instruction during a regularly assigned personal preparation period. 3. Teacher’s assigned to the ancillary duty of professional development/curriculum development outside of the normal school year/teacher work day will be paid $30.00 per hour. 4. Ancillary Duty Pay. A. Certificated employees who provide afterschool, ESY, or other instruction beyond the regular work day/regular teaching duties or who participate in professional development beyond the regular work day shall be compensated at a rate of $25/hour. B. Certificated employees who provide training or leadership duties beyond their normal roles as teachers or department chairs may earn ancillary duty pay of $350 for each full day equivalent of such duty. Examples of duties could include training and follow-up on school-wide data collections systems, planning, promoting, and hosting professional development or in-services open to staff from other agencies, etc. These projects must be approved in advance by the Executive Director.
