Taking of Personal/Carer’s Leave. An Employee may take Personal/Carer’s Leave: Where the Employee is not fit for work because of a personal illness, or personal injury, affecting the Employee; or To provide care or support to a member of the Employee’s immediate family, or a member of the Employee’s household, who requires care or support because of a personal illness, or personal injury affecting the member, or an unexpected emergency affecting the member.

  • Personal/Carer’s Leave a) Personal/carer’s leave is defined in accordance with Section 244 of the Act and includes paid sick leave (accrued under the AFPCS) and paid or unpaid carer’s leave (accrued under the AFPCS). Casual employees shall have no entitlement to paid personal/carer’s leave.

  • Payment of Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave (a) If an employee takes a period of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave and meets the notice requirements set out at Clause 44.3 the employer must pay the employee at the employee’s base rate of pay for the employee’s ordinary hours of work in the period.

  • Accumulation of Personal Leave Personal leave described in Article 38 shall accumulate from year to year up to eight days. For the purposes of this section, “days” are based on the employee’s prorated work day.

  • Use of Personal Leave An employee may use personal leave credits to conduct personal business that cannot be conducted outside of normal working hours and for personal emergencies.

  • Jury Service/Witness Leave 17.1 Employees called on for jury service are required to serve. Where the need is urgent, the Employer may apply for postponement because of particular work needs, but this may be done only in exceptional circumstances.

  • PRIVATE BUSINESS/GENERAL/PERSONAL LEAVES OF ABSENCE 12.1. In consultation with the principal and with two (2) weeks notice where possible, a teacher shall be granted two (2) days personal leave per school year, except where circumstances put such a leave in conflict with the interests of the school. In consultation with the superintendent and with two (2) weeks’ notice where possible, a principal shall be granted two (2) days personal leave per school year, except where circumstances put such a leave in conflict with the interests of the school.

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.

  • Personal/Xxxxx’s Leave 7.3.1 All full time employees shall be entitled to accrue paid personal / carer's leave on the basis of 10 days per year (or pro-rata thereof for any period less than one year). Part-time employees are entitled to a pro-rata benefit. Paid personal / carer's leave is cumulative.

  • Personal Medical Leave 1. Accrued 100% sick leave may be used at the employee's discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below.
